Cabbie Killer Admits Crime SEATTLE (API - A four-day. four-county manhunt ended Sun day evening with the capture, and subsequent confession, of an ox convict wanted in the murder ol Seattle taxicab driver. Joseph Chester Sell. 2'J. sporting a scalp-tight hair cut. quietly sur rendered to Pierce County Sherifl Frank Stojack on a country road near Kibe, a tiny town in the Mount Rainer foothills of western Washington. Stojack turned Self over to the King County sheriffs office here, where officers obtained a signed. 8'a-page confession. "I did kill the man." officers quoted Self as saying, "But I did not go out to kill him. Gemmill had been shot twice once in the side and once in the head. Self's picture had been picked out by witnesses who saw a man enter Gemmill's cab here Wednes day. Self's thumbprints also wore found on a flashlight in the cab, detectives said. Sell gave himself up after an Intermediary telephoned t h e Pierce County sherilf's office and said the Oregon ex-convict want ed to surrender to Stojack per sonally. Self was disarmed of a pair of rifles apparently taken in a burg lary of a residence in the Elbe area. XlcCuIlough, who watched through field glasses as Stojack and Self made their' way down the road, said the accused mur derer spoke only a few words on the ride to jail here. "What's the penalty for murder in the Stale of Washington?" Self asked McCullough at one point. The sheriff replied succinctly: "Hanging." Wilcox state health ollicer, said Friday Dr. Wilcox said 224 youngster; under the age ol 20 were afflicted with venereal disease last Var. He said 11 of these youths had not yet reached 15. And another 261 between 20 and 23 had vener eal diseases. Most suflered gonorrhea, which until recently had been cured easily with penicillin. He said now there are indications that penicillin is losing its effective ness against gonorrhea. There were 1,777 cases of gonor rhea reported in Oregon last year the largest number since 1948.
