Holidays Bring Family Guests ETNA Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ren-' nison and daughter, accompanied by Mrs. Rennison's grandparents -Mr. and Mrs. Jess Gibbs of Para dise, arrived in Callahan from Lake Tahoe to spend the Christmas holi days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hayden. On Christmas Day the Haydens served dinner to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rennison and daughter; Mr. and Mrs. Jess Gibbs; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Meek and daughters of Yreka; Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Gil more and son, Mitchell, Callahan; Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Stone, Calla han, and Lynette and Mary Lou Hayden. The Rennisons accompanied by her grandparents then left for the Gibbs home in Paradise. From there the Rennisons will leave for Little Rock, . Couple Weds In Reno Rites FORT KLAMATH Mr. and Mrs. Earl M. Jackson of Fort Klam ath have received announcement of the wedding of Jackson's brother, Wilbur Jackson, well known mem ber of the pioneer Wood River Val ley family. He and his bride are expected to arrive shortly for a visit at the Jackson home. On December 21, Mrs. Edith Pease of Yuba City became the bride of Wilbur Jackson at Reno, and the couple has since been at home at Yuba City. The new Mrs. Jackson is' a girlhood friend of Mrs. Earl (Lida) Jackson, and with her late husband, Leroy Pease, has visited here frequently. Wilbur Jackson is a retired Army lieutenant colonel and spent his childhood in Fort Klamath with his family. Suits! Dresses! SPORTSWEAR! EULALONA DAR Eulalona Chapter, DAR, met Monday evening, January 4, at the home of Mrs. Roland E. Wright with Mrs. Albert O. Roenicke, re gent, presiding. During the busi ness meeting delegates and alter nates were elected to the society's state conference being held in Eu gene March 9, 10 and 11. Dele gates to the National Congress, held in Washington, D.C., in April, will be announced later. Mrs. Roenicke read a list of the qualifications for DAR national Gold Honor Roll and reported that Eulalona Chapter has met all of the requirements. Committee chairmen were re minded that their annual reports should be filed with their state chairman and with the chapter re gent not later than January 15, An interesting program on the constitution was arranged by Mrs. W. J. Owsley, who read a com mentary on the philosophy of the constitution by Judge Edgar F. 'Smith, a retired trial and appel late court attorney of the state of California. Mrs. William L. Wales Jr. read the Bill of Rights and Mrs. Owsley also commented on the amendments to the constitu tion. Another pleasing part of the eve ning's program was arranged by Mrs. E. M. Chilcote who showed Interesting handmade quilts in cluding two "Log Cabin" de signs. One had been made by E. M. Chilcote's mother and the other one of silk was made by Dr. A. 0. Roenicke's mother. Two "Double Wedding Ring" quilts were shown by Mrs. Guy Barton whose grand mother made them. "Flower Gar den" and "Mosaic" patterns were displayed by Mrs. Albert Roenicke and Mrs. E. M. Chilcote, both made by their respective mothers. Two exquisite quilts made more recent ly by Mrs. E. M. Chilcote were also shown, the "North Carolina Rose" and "Wild Rose." The chapter was pleased to wel come as a guest Mrs. J. M. Mol lett of Los Angeles. Hostesses for the evening were Mrs. Roland E. Wright, Mrs. Bert C. Thomas, Mrs. H. A. Nitschelm and Mrs. L. H. Stone. The next meeting of Eulalona Chapter will be at the community lounge on February 1 when a spe cial program on the American flag will be presented by Mrs. Dick Owens and Mrs. Phillip Brixner. Annual reports and election of of ficers will be cm the agenda. Home Extension BUE.NA VISTA Buena Vista Home Extension Unit met at Joan's Kitchen. Mrs. Ruth Dyer gave a lesson on graci ous hosting, including the method of introduction that is most proper and table etiquette including prop er setting of table for guests and serving of food and drink. A discussion was held on pro gram planning for the coming year. . Mrs. Vera Randolph received the white elephant. Mrs. Irene Charas and Mrs. Viv ian Holzhouser led us in the mak ing of six different soups. Next meeting is in February with pattern fitting as the project. ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED NEW PINE CREEK Pfc.
