The social hour will begin at 6:30 with the buffet dinner enter tainment beginning at 7 p.m. The annual Christmas party is in honor i.f the 30 new AAUW members. The single ring ceremony was read at 4:30 in the afternoon by the Rev. Rafe Martin. Present for the service were Mr. and Mrs. Leo Coon and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert C. Graham, parents of the young couple. For the ceremony the bride chose a lace trimmed royal blue taffeta gowrt. while feather hat AAUW Members Bid To Christmas Party Engagement Is Announced LAKEVIEW Announcement has been made by her parents of the engagement of Deanna Jean Cullop of Ashland to David El liott of Lakeview. A wedding date has not been set. The bride-elect, a senior at Ash land High School, is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow J. Cullop of Ashland. Her fiance is the son of Mrs. Carl Lange and Thomas Elliott of Lakeview. He is a sophomore at Southern Oregon College. erio and white brocade slippers. A white orchid was pinned at her shoulder. Following the ceremony a wed ding supper was held in the Olym pic Room of the Riverside Hotel. Later the newlyweds left for S wedding trip to San Francisco and the Monterey Peninsula. On their return they will reside in Klam ath Falls. Merrill Women Stage Yule Party MERRILI A Christmas party which included a potluck lunch eon and gilt exchange was attend ed by 40 members of the Merrill Library Club on Thursday after noon, December 3, at the Merrill Recreation Hall. Plans for a teen-age dance were proposed by Mrs. Ivan Kandra, chairman of the youth activity committee. The dance will be held Saturday, December 10, in the IOOF Hall. Students will be ad mitted by student body card. A limited number of adult tickets viK be sold. Mrs. George Mattson, librarian, announced that the November cir culation was higher than previous months. The nominating committee, Mrs. Robert Merrilees, Mrs. Jim Walk er and Mrs. Bob Walker, an nounced their suggestions for lOUO ofticers. Their suggestions were approved and elected. Mrs. Wil liam Poe will succeed Mrs. War ren Walker as president. Other officers-elect are Mrs. Wilbur Brick ncr, vice president: Mrs. Jim V'alker, secretary; Mrs. William Walker, treasurer; and Mrs. M. A. Mrs. George Mattson will maintain her office as librarian. A candy decorated Christmas tree centerpiece was awarded to Mrs. George Chin. Preceding the potluck luncheon, a presentation of "The Lord's Prayer" was offered by Sharon Hobson and Linda Kafton. sleigh full of helpers have planned a very testivc program. Members are asked to bring for the gift exchange a favorite tree ornament, an unusual gift wrap ping, or homemade goodies with the recipe attached. McCor mick on November 22 at St. Ma ry's Episcopal Church in Eugene. The double ring ceremony was read by Father Eliis before the al-j tar decorated with bouquets of white stock. The bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Henry F. McCor mick of Lakeview. The bride was escorted to the altar by her father along the aisle marked at the pews with candela bra tied with white satin ribbon and entwined with ivy. The bridal gown was o( white taffeta trimmed at the neck and hip line with lace and sequins. The long boullant skirt ended in a chapel train. A can of tulle trimmed with seed pearls held in place a fingertip veil. The bride wore for sentiment MONA CHENOwETH won second place in the vocal solos division of the intra mural societies' recent music contest at Northwest Naia rene College in Nampa, Ida ho. Laki Gar den Club arranged a housewarm ing party in honor of Mrs. Alice Nyhart at her home, 1406 Divi sion Street, on Sunday afternoon, November 22. A money tree was presented to her by the guests. The couple, both seniors at the University of Oregon, are residing at 751 K. 14th Street in Eugene. The bride is a member of ChJ Omega sorority and Phi Beta hon orary.
