Constitutional Conven tion, scheduled to be held in Klam ath falls Saturday, December 12, has been postponed, Mrs. Flora Lee Reeves, convention chairman, has announced. Sen. Clair Engle is to be guest of honor. Delay in holding the convention was caused by the late adjourn ment of the Congress and previ ous commitments made by Senator Engle and his tour of the Far East. In a recent letter to Mrs. Reeves, Senator Engle said he will consider a new date upon his re turn from the Far East later this month. Since Senator Engle must be in Washington in January, the convention will probably be held next spring, said Mrs. Reeves. The purpose of the convention is primarily to publicize the po tential natural resources and op portunities fo be found in the 22 counties of California and Oregon which make up the State of Jefferson. Frank Jenkins, editor and pub lisher, Klamath Falls, and "gov ernor" of the State of Jefferson. said a convention date in the spring will, due to the holiday rush, "suit me fine." He also said he thinks the spring will he more convenient for governors Pat Brown. Califor nia, and Mark Hatfield of Oregon and other dignitaries who are in vited and have expressed a de sire to attend the State of Jeffer son convention.
