The church of St. John, The Apostle, Paisley, will be dedicated Sunday, 'August 2. at S p.m., by the Most Rev. F. P. Leipzig, D.D., bishop of Baker, and the massa children, accompanied n-y a will be celebrated by Father .lames O'Connor, pastor of St. Pat rick parish. Lakeview, in which the new church is a mission. Arrangements are being made by the women of the Paisley Altar Society for a dinner following the dedication and mass. A number of priests in the area have been invited to attend and a general invitation is extended to all mem bers of the parish. Construction of the church was made possible through a gift of $10,000 from the Catholic Exten sion Society of Chicago. The re mainder of the building costs are to be raised by the attendant ' l . This is the Hist church in the dio cese of Baker that the society has contributed to in the approxi mately 30 years of its existence. This month also marks the 81st birthday of Archbishop Edward D. O'Brien, auxiliary bishop of Chi cago, who is president of the ex tension society. This dedication also marks the construction com pletion of three mission churches St. Patrick Parish, one in Plush in 1953, Adel. 1956. and Pais ley, 1959. Approximately $25,000 was needed for the completion of each church. Father Patrick J. Lunham, pas tor of ML Carmel Church, Chilo- quin, has announced that con struction will start at once on a mission church of that parish at Bly. The building is being made pos sible by a gift of $10,000 from Rich ard Cardinal Cushing of Boston to Bishop Francis P. Leipzig of Bak er, and the funds were made available for the church at Bly By request of Cardinal Cushing, the' church will be named (or St James, the Apostle. In addition, a gift of $5,000 was made by Mrs J. P. McAuliffe of Fort Klamalh in memory of her late husband. Jack P. McAuliffe, prominent stockman and rancher of the area who died early this year. Two lots for the site in the west end of Blf were donated by John and Reva O'Neill of that city and materials in the amount of $300 were given by Johns-Manville Corpora tion, Ihrpugh W. . Lewis Kendoll, com mander of the Klamath Fall, Salvation Army, and 18 young peo ple left Thursday to attend a one week coeducational camp at Bor ing. Sessions include swimming. hiking, fishing, educational pro grams and traditional evening fire side activities. Many of the camperships wert financed by citizens of the Klam ath Basin, Captain Kendoll said. The camp periods are conducted during the summer months also for young people interested in leader ship training, music, scouting and handicapped children programs.
