Butte Valley Fair Planned TULELAKE A new method of selecting the queen of the Tulelake Butte Valley Fair to be held Sep tember 12, 13 and 14, was an flounced today by Russell Smith, fair director in charge of the queen's contest. This year the reigning monarch will be chosen not on the basis of the number of tickets she sells but on her qualifications in beauty which will count 40 per cent; popu larity, 25 per cent; personality, 20 per cent and talent, 45 per cent, The results will be announced at the annual queen's ball on Mon day, September 7 in the Home Economics Building at the Fair grounds. Popularity will judged by a vote cast by each person attending the dance, for the candidate he thinks would serve as the best queen. Qualifications for each conies tant include that she must be 16 by September 1 and that she may rot have reached her 25th birthday by August 30. She must also re side in Butte Valley, the Tulelake Basin, Merrill or Malin. Thus, California girl will be eligible for ; the Maid of California contest next : HI. !'
