C. (AP) A policeman went berserk in a hos pital Monday night, seized a woman patient as a hostage and fired several shots in a corridor before he was killed by a fellow officer. County Coroner Ralph Steed said Ralph E. Medlin, 26. a police man at nearby Southern Pines, was shot by Rudolph Drye, also of the Southern Pines police force.
