Theatergoers are urged to make their arrangements as early as possible. GRANGE NEWS Lost River Grange members were treated to a lull round of entertainment at a meeting the evening of July 8 at the Grange Hall in Olenc. An accordion trio from Lcona Robertson's Studios performed Peggy Matson, Vicki McCann and Rob MeClurg played three selec tions. Ruth Krider, Marge Rugcr, Kay Simmons and Betty Perkins, mem bers of the Adelines' Incidentals Quartet, sang six songs. Duncan Stewart acted as mas ter of ceremonies for Emma Kin ney, lecturer, who was not pres ent. Stewart introduced Pavitt Ncwnham, master of Lost River Grange. Newnham welcomed Grangers and asked them to in troduce themselves and named their Grange offices. Grange women served refresh ments under supervision of Zetta Sullivan, home economics chair man. Her helpers were Martha Masten. Ada Brown, Vi Lewis, Rosa Meeker, Mildred Novotny, Mrs. Gabriel, Marge Newnham, Zclla High and Ruth Johnson. The quartet closed the meeting with a song. and give the Soviet Union a sum mit conference in the fall. The foreign ministers of the United Slates, Britain and France are expected to put the proposal to Soviet Foreign Minister Andrei1 Gromyko soon after the Big Four conference resumes here Monday. As outlined here, the plan con tains only one change in previous Western proposals. East and West Germany would be given equal representation on a subcommittee to take preliminary steps toward reunification of Germany. Previously the West proposed a subcommittee of 25 West Germans and 10 from the Communist East, because West Germany's popula tion is more than three times that of the East. In return for this concession Western officials think -the Soviets might agree to freeze the situa tion in Central Europe, including Berlin.! But they are considerably less than optimistic. "It all depends on whether Pre mier Khrushchev wants any kind of settlement at all," said a high ly placed Western official. In addition to the freeze on the Berlin situation, the other key point in the plan is appointment of a Big Four commission to work on plans for reunification of Ger many, the end of the Berlin oc cupation and a mutual security system in Central Europe. The foreign ministers would set no deadline for the commission and the subcommittee to complete their work. That would be left for the heads of government at the summit conference. At the end of the agreed period, another foreign ministers' meet ing would be held to study the reports of the commission and the subcommittee.
