Dall of Yreka, exchanged nuptial vowa with Norman Carol Cooley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles" Cooley, also of Yreka, on Saturday afternoon. May 16. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Yreka, with Father Robert Con nolly reading the i o'clock rites before approximately 125 assem bled guests. Large baskets of white stock and pink snapdragons decorated the altar of the church. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was lovely in a waltz length gown of white Italian im ported lace over taffeta, fashioned with a scalloped scoop neckline, edged with pearls; and bracelet -length sleeves. Iridescent heart-shaped sequins and an edging of tiny pearls, deco rated her lace half hat. which se cured her elbow-length veil in place. She wore a pearl necklace, gift of the bridegroom. Her bridal bouquet was of white carnations with pink rosebuds nestled in the center. Mrs. Frederick Johnston of Yre ka, was matron of honor for her sister: and Mrs. Richard Han- ni of Y'reka, and Sandra Kiock of Gazelle, were bridesmaids, all wearing identically fashioned gowns, featuring fitted, bodices IHill M.:A.aJ.i. i I, VI sr-F-:;'?.: A PARISIAN THEME, "d'anchanteur soir", soma anchantad evening, was cleverly portrayed by the junior class for the annual KUHS junior-senior prom held recently in the school cafeteria. Murals painted by Susan Moss, Carolyn Westlund and Rax Wanner covered the entire walls of the rpom. They depicted scenes of Paris including Moulin Rouge and a sidewalk cafe. Purple crepe paper streamers hung from the ceiling between the drawings and trees of green roses were placed about the edge of tha dance floor. At either end of the room rock gardens with purple and white iris completed the attractive decor. Baldy's Band played for dancing. Pictured is the royal court which reigned for the festivities. Yreka Project Aided By BPW YREKA Presentation of two checks to Floyd Taylor, represen tative for the Yreka Community Center, by past president of the Yreka Business and Professional Women's Club, Rachael Cordes, on behalf of the club, and Mrs. Margaret Esrey, was the highlight of the organization's business meet ing on Tuesday evening. May 12, in the club room of the Yreka Inn. The club had conducted a food ale .early in April to raise the money for the contribution, which was to aid in the refurbishing of the old fourth street grammar school to be used as a commu nity center by various organiza tions of Yreka. Mrs. Margaret Es rey. a member of the Yreka BPWC. had offered to match a contribution made by the club, and the two checks totaled close to J105. Prior to the presentation, Tay lor outlined briefly what work has been accomplished in the past few months by members of Boy Scout and Girl Scout units, the Teen age Club, the Kiwanis Club and members of the committee in charge of the renovation project. During the business session, pre sided over by the recently in stalled president, Betty Dow, ten tative plans were discussed for the June 23 dinner meeting. Weather permitting, the dinner will be an outdoor potluck event. It was also decided by mem bers to postpone the program planning meeting until after the WASH-AND-WEAR CARE Wash-and-wear clothing will wear longer and look better if you know how to launder it. When you buy, check to see whether an article requires hand or machine laundering. If it is machine, see if the garment should be removed while wet or damp or whether It should be spun dry. The bouffant skirts were tied with sashes of long rib bon, matching their broad brimmed picture hats of nylon braid. The matron of honor's gown was of white net. featuring a lace pattern over green talfeta, while the bridesmaids gowns were of white net over pink taf feta. Ribbons matching their gowns tied ineir white carnation bou quets, and they wore Aurora crys tal earrings, a gift of the bride Serving as best mm was Robert F. Suva of Yreka, and guests were seated by Richard Bryan of Sacramento and Everett-Flock of Yreka. Serving as acolre was Larry Dall, brother of the bride Wedding marches - were played by Mrs. Leo Jurinton, organist, wno aiso piayeo Ave .Maria. "On This Day," and "Oh Beauti ful Mother." , The bride's mother. Mrs.' Dall, chose for her daughter's wedding an afternoon frock of blue chiffon; with a floral pattern, comple mented with matching accessor ies. Mrs. Cooley, mother of the bridegroom, selected a pale green silk sheath with white accessor ies. Both mothers wore corsages of white carnations. The reception was held, follow mg the ceremony, in the Melody Room of the Yreka Inn. Focal point of the bride's table was beautifully decorated five-tiered cake, topped with a miniature bride and bridegroom, the base surrounded with pink and white carnations, h tanking the cake were lighted candles held hi silver candelabra with crystal pendants. Baskets of pink and white stock and snapdragons were placed at each end of the table. Following the initial slice of cake cut by the newlyweds, it was served with other refreshments by Mrs. Betty Cooley, Gloria Ainoe and Susanne Hixson. Guests were registered by Mrs. Leslie Fiock. with Mrs. Edgar Ainoe and Mrs. Mark Hixson presiding at the gift table. For her wedding trip, the new Mrs. Cooley chose a white knit suit with pink accessories, the pink rosebuds from her bridal bou quet serving as a corsage. The newlyweds left for a wedding trip immediately after the reception and are now residing at 403 Her tog Boulevard in Yreka. The bride attended schools in Wooster, Ohio, and Yreka. and is now employed at the Crocker Anglo Bank in Y'reka. The bride groom is a graduate of Y'reka schools, attended San Jose State my ANN ANDERSON, pictured with her escort, Paul Stip pich, was chairman of the annual junior-senior prom at KUHS. John Thompsoa entertained the third grade of Bo nanza and their teacher, Mrs. Jeas Angle, with a lunch and party re freshments at noon May 21, in honor of the birthday of her daughter, Karen, who was 9 years old. The party was held during the noon hour at the Bonanza park. A blue and yellow birthday cake was the center of attraction. Games were played until time to go back to school. Mrs. Jack Rodg er assisted Mrs. Thompson with the party. Mike Thompson, and David and Mike Rodgers, who were not third graders were also guests.
