Charles Bennett Officers Wives Attend Luncheon Members, of the Officers "Wives' Club held their regular luncheon meeting at 1 o clock on May 21 ,at the Officers' Club at Kingsley Field. Mrs. Lloyd LeMay was. chair man for the affair. She was as aisted by Mrs. David Bell and Mrs. Ward Tuttle. Centerpieces for the tables were elaborately decorated cakes. Cup cakes were placed along the tables between the larger cakes. Mrs. Richard Mallon presided at the brief business meeting. Mrs. Dick Reeder. representing the American Red Cross, showed alides nf the work done in the lo cal unit and spoke of the need for more volunteers. Following the program an amus ing hour was spent as each one present told of her most em barrassing moment. Decorated rakes were given as prizes to Mrs. Leland Raphun. Mrs. Dan iel Reed and Mrs. William Fred rick. Newcomers welcomed at the luncheon included Mrs. G a ry Nardi. Mrs. Harold Reynolds. Mrs. Delhert Paulson, Mrs. Polly Ihatuan Jr. and Mrs. George An dre. Mrs. Elton Smith and Mrs. Rob ert Mest. both honorary members of the club, and Mrs. George Dugan were guests of the day. McCLOUD Mr. and Mrs. An thony Desoza of McCloud have an nounced the marriage of their son, Halbert, to Joetta Mae Yager, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sydney Y'ager of Quincy. The wedding took place In the Methodist Church in Quincy, with the Rev. A. Melvin Tinker officiat ing, at p.m. on May 23. They were married before an al tar banked with white stock and carnations and flanked by cande labra. The bride wore a ballerina length dress of white lace over light blue taffeta. She carried a small bouquet of orchids and her tiny hat was trimmed with seed pearls. Her sister, Rae. was her bridesmaid and wore an identical dress of pink. Lloyd Coulter was best man and ushers were Leland and Daniel Cot ter, all of Quincy. Out-of-town guests were the bride's grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. George Lakin. a great aunt. Mrs. Betty Gay of Sacramento, and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Desoza of McCloud., The bride is a graduate of Quin cy High School and has been em ployed for two years as a practical nurse in the Quincy Hospital. The bridegroom is a graduate of McCloud schools and attended Las sen Junior College. Oregon State College and the Army School of Engineers at Fort Brlvoir, Virgin ia. He is bow employed as high way engineer for Plumas National Forest. Following the rites a reception was held in the social hall of the church.
