To Red Bluff Mr. and Mrs Lee Bernard of New Pine Creek left for Red Bluff last week on account of the serious illness of Mrs. Bernard's stepfather, P a u Taylor. Public Installation Claudia Heg- lund will be installed Saturday eve ning at the Chiloquin Masonic Hall as worthy adviser for the Rain bow Assembly for Girls. The pub lic is invited to the 8 o'clock cere mony. On Leave Radioman Richard Cloyd, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thom as Cloyd, Fort Jones, is home on leave after a six-months cruise 'n the Far East on the submarine L'.S.S. Tang. Cloyd will be as signed to the aircraft carrier, U.S.S Lexington, scheduled for an Eastern cruise later this year. Set Construction Dclphine Jackson, granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd J. Jackson, Klam ath Agency, is in charge of con hurststructing 1900-pcriod sets for Marylhurst College Players. Miss Jackson is a junior at Marylhurst and is a member of the college drama society. Hospital Mrs. Merrill Stewart of Bonanza has been receiving medical care at Hillside Hospital Moved Bill Eberhart has moved from Langcll Valley to Klamath Falls to live. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Nelson of Malin have moved to the Loveness ranch to live. New Daughter Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Pepple of Roseburg are pap ents of their third daughter. Deb- ra, who was born January 11. Cliff is a former Langell Valley resi dent and Debra is the niece of the Owen Pcpples of Bonanza, Visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lrnest Givan of Bonanza for a few days was Gordon Givan of Santa Barbara. Over the week end he moved his sister-in-law, Mrs. Doris Givan, and children. Jennifer and Jay, to Eugene where they will make their home. To Pendleton Mr. and Mrs Doug Williams of Bonanza spent several days in Pendleton. First Child-Mrs. Walter Dillon has returned to her home in Bo nanza after two weeks at Crescent City with her son - in - law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Don Cross write, who are the parents of their first child, Terry Joseph, born New iears Day. Little Terry was the first New Year's baby in that city. Meeting The Guild of St. Bar nabas Episcopal Church of Langcll Valley will meet at the home of .Mrs. Dorothy Peterson of Bonan za, January 22. at 2 p.m. Officers will be elected for the comine year. Anyone interested is invited to attend. Card Party The Altar Society of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church of Bonanza is giving a card party at tne Bonanza Librarv January 31 at 8 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend. Prizes and refreshments. Alluras Barney M. Smith. manager of the Alturas Moulding Company, underwent surgery at Providence Hospital, Oakland. Cal ifornia, last Friday morning. He will convalesce at the home of a sister in Orange County. Patient Dan Davis of Alturas is a patient at Woodland Clinic. Davis is a retired employe of the Modoc National Forest. New Pine Creek The Rev Jeff Swinney, New Pine Creek, is in Pleasant Hill, California, for a four-day series of religious de bates. His opponent will represent the Church of Christ and he, the Baptists. New Pine Creek Jim Mulvey of New Pine Creek received wed last week of the accidental death of his nephew, Richard Mulvev, 16, near Carnngton, North Dakota The boy was reported to have had a tractor fall upon him. Richard's father, Jim's brother, was also ac cidentally killed in North Dakota about two years ago. Returned Eric Rose returned to New Pine Creek from a visit to Lewiston, Idaho. Telephone Meeting There will be a telephone meeting at 7 o'clock Saturday evening, January 17, it the Eastside Grange Hall. J. T Arias, representative of the Citi zen's Utility Company, will discuss telephone installations. A regular grange meeting will follow the tele phone meeting. Police said Thursday night the photouraphs showed Mrs. Ruth Ann Montague, 32, was wearing gold-colored, dome shaped ear rings later found in the possession of her student laboratory techni cian husband. The earrings were not on her body when it was found Jan. ft. the day after the party.
