The pledge was in response to an appeal made recently by Elder J. H. Apigian of Vacaville who addressed the united congregations in the Alturas church. The new academy is to be named Rio Lindo. The proposed institution is to be coeducational and will provide for 330 enrollees annually. Its purpose as an industrial training school is to train young people to develop Christian characters, as the curric ulum includes studies to promote the growth of the mental, physical. social and spiritual abilities of each student.
