A number of citizens appeared the off-street parking district report which was released to the council last weeK Dy u. Jack Faustman. who was conduct ing the off-street parking survey. Mayor Slater announced that the formal hearing .date would be deferred until August 11 at which time Faustman would be present to further explain the plan. Residents of Huron Street were present in the audience in support of a paving project for that street from Pacific Terrace to Newcastle. Assistant City Engineer Cliff San ders reported that of the property involved, owners of 52.6 per cent approved the project, while 34.8 per cent opposed it, and 12.6 per cent did not reply. It was pointed out that the own er of one vacant lot on the street Bud Lucas, 2033 Huron, opposed the project. It was reported that this was the only property owner on the street itself that was in opposition to the paving move, that the other objectors were residents adjoining Pacific Terrace which would also be assessed for the improvement. The council moved to have the citv engineer draw up the plans and will set a formal hearing date later. Bids were opened on the re wiring of the city hall.
