IDAS ROUNOL'P V bins 430 00)1 411 Another Estevez number in transparent brown chiffon over crepe plunges in a deep-V to the waist both front and back. The outer layer of chiffon comes to a modest high in front. Miss Chapman features three major silhouettes for cocktail and evening clothes. One is the masked sheath actually a shealh dress with, a wide panel running all the way from the low-cut neck line at the back, to the hemline. The second is the diamond horseshoe, which clings to the body to the knees, then widens into a flounce or in some cases ends at the hemline with a wide border of one of the long-hair furs. A cream white brocade, for instance, is bordered with white fox. Third is the dancing nymph sil houette, with a fitted, draped front but with the back balloon ing out like a parachute. Estevez also uses contrasting fabric to call attention to the bos om. Several of his short, fitted cocktail sheaths have the bust en circled by a wide band of white or bright colored satin, with the ends twisted into an upstanding propellor bow at the front. For daytime. Estevez likes the higher waistline, often accenting it with a drawstring tied under the bosom. The stampede, sponsored bv the Shasta Valley Community Club, features ton stock from the Dick Ilcmsled Shows from Redding. Cow- pokes from all parts of California and Oregon, and also Texas and Arizona have participated in pre vious years. Stan Cooley, rodeo chairman, has received word from everal interested cowboys that BILL JESPERSON, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Jasper son, Hornbrook, will be one of the participants at tha Shasta Valley Stampede In Montague July 25 and 26. Bill, who has rodaoed tor eight years, is in the U. S. Army but has been granted leave to participate in statewide rodeos. Helfrlch Photo Treasure Hike Set For Youths The City Parks and Recreation office announces a "Treasure Hike" for youngsters will take place Thursday, July 24. It will be the second of four scheduled sum mer hikes. Those taking part may wear pi rate costumes if they like. The "treasure" will be located by maps which the hikers will receive upon leaving the swimming pool at the start of hike at in a m. (UPI) i Townson said he was slung on both hands and "the next thing I knew I was there in the hos pital." If the youngsters are skillful enough to locate the treasure, it Is planned to eat lunch at its loca lion. All should bring sack lunches. Participants will be allowed ; free swim at the pool if they de sire when the hike ends at 3 p.m. Swimmers should bring suits and towels. Registration to take the hike should be made by July 23 at any play center or at the swim ming pool. Miss Ella Redkey will accom pany and supervise the youngsters. 4-H NEWS MONTAGUE The Big Springs 4-H Club held its July meeting recently at the home of its lead ers, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wa ters of Big Springs. Prior to the meeting, the mem bers jointly "practiced" judging of a dairy cow for 4-H judging day, which was held on July 13 in Yreka, judging being on swine, sheep, dairy and beef. Preslnt at the meeting was guests were members of the Ta ta e Rock 4-H Club. During the meeting, dates and plans were set for carrying out three cninmmunity projects, which included painting direction signs, placing of fire prevention signs, and gathering trash along the county roads. The club also discussed plans for a booth for the Siskiyou County Fair to he held at Yreka on Au gust 14, 15. and 1ft. Pat MacKinnon News Reporter MEMPHIS. Tenn.
