I 1 1 ii ii i i Wafe t inixntia THE FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH was chosen by Marcia Rao Cochrane and Richard Paul Sumner for their June 14 wedding. Vows were exchanged before 100 rela tives and guests in a candlelighted setting. A reception followed in the social rooms of the church. The new Mr. and Mrs. Sumner are at home in this city. Palms and can delabra completed the- decora tions. The 2 o'clock ceremony on June 14 was performed by the Rev. James Overdnrff of the Pelican Presbyterian Sunday School. Marcia. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Cochrane, 1419 Can by Street, was given in marriage bv her father. Her princess style, ballerina - length gown was of white embossed taffeta with pearl-trimmed lace bodice, and was made by Mrs. It. J. Sumner, mother of the bridegroom. A crown of white leaves, trimmed with pearls, held the shoulder-length veil. The bride's slippers were class and she wore white net cloves. She carried a white Bihle, centered with a purple - throated white orchid, trimmed with ste- chanotis. Something blue for the bride was the traditional blue garter and something old was a lace hand kerchief, which had belonged to her grandmother. Marcia borrowed a white Bible for the borrowed, and something new was her veil. For luck a penny in her slipper. Peggy Sumner, sister of the bridegroom, was the bride's only ettendant. Her dress was of pow der blue organza, made in prin cess style and ballerina length She wore a matching hat of blue ieaves and illusion net veil, match- ing satin slippers and net cloves Her bouquet was a nosegay of pmk carnations and white net. the bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Sumner. 22!) Alameda, had asked Larry Worden to be his best man, and Jim Ochs and Bob Dixon were ushers. Ron Sumner, brother of the bridegroom, lighted the candles before the ceremony, Mrs. George Mclnlyre was or ganist and Kurt Feidler, soloist, The bride s mother chose a navy blue and white afternoon dress ;ind her corsage was red roses and white carnations. Approximately 100 guests attend ed the reception in the church dining room. The three-tiered brides cake, trimmed with blueind white roses, centered the white-covered table. Candelabra with white candles were on either side of the cake A piece of white coral with spray of pale pink orchids dec orated the guest hook table. Punch was served by Mrs. Johi Parisotlo. and coffee was served by Mrs. Everett Ball.
