This, John Foster Dulles said last night, is the issue of our time, perhaps the issue of all time. The secretary of state addressed dinner of the Board of Directors of Union Theological Seminary. Afterward he and Mrs. Dulles saw their only daughter, Mrs. Lillias Hinshaw, receive her bachelor of divinity degree from the semi nary. 'Out in Tennessee there is a plant which turns out bombs," Dulles said at the dinner. Here is a plant which turns out ministers of the Gospel. The two seem remote and un related. Actually, the issue of our time, perhaps the issue of all our hu man time, is which of the two outputs will prevail." Dulles, a former member of the seminary board, is the son of a Presbyterian minister. The secre tary is also a ruling elder of the Brick Presbyterian Church here. Our great theological seminar ies, more than any other institu tions, are the mainsprings of the spiritual life of our people, Dul les said. 'They are in reality the central power plants upon wnich men must, above all, depend hot mere ly for their spiritual salvation, but for their material safety.
