Speech Event Winners Told Junior High Speech Festival held recently, the three schools who received top scores of the 11 coun ty schools participating were Ma lin with a score of 21.63, Altamont 20.47 and Bonanza 19.15. The highest number of points a student can individually obtain is four and blue ribbons are awarded to those receiving 3.5 points orl higher. Malin students who earned blue ribbons were Kathy Kenyon, storytelling, "The Haunted Church;" Bob Brown, serious, "In Defense of Teen-agers;" Roxie Vacknitz, poetry, poems of child hood: Verne Cox, humorous, "En tertaining the Minister; and Mar- cia Kenyon, Mary Jayne F i s k, Conrad Johnson, Arnold Cacka, Don Johnson, Kirby Wilson, radio, Of Mice and Men. Other blue ribbon winners in the county were Altamont, choral reading, Daniel Jazz; Altamont, radio, "Mystery of the Red Plan et;" Chiloquin, radio, "Natural I Resources on the Moon;" Gil christ, radio, "Our United States Missile Program." KASRU Conducts Crab Feed Event Over 100 aviation enthusiasts, members of the Klamath Air Search and Rescue Unit, were present for KASRU's first annual I crab feed, Wednesday, February 19, at the pilot s lounge at King- sley Field. Fritz Markwardt, Chiloquin, president, expressed appreciation to those who made the dinner possible, among them Ed and Cleta Scholer, Orville and Doreen London, Rex Morehouse, Lester Liston, Cecil Fitzgerald, John Ritterrath, Bob Nelson, Elbert Stiles and Bud Cloake. Many persons not actively as- eociated with any flying group but who are interested in aviation were present. The next meeting, March 5 at 8 p.m. in the pilot's lounge, is an important one with election of of ficers on the agenda. Everyone interested is welcome.
