Demick to head the organization of the lodge members collecting funds for the Heart As sociation in Alturas on Heart Sun day, February 23. Northern Kcbekah Lodge will enlist volunteers from the lodge, and others interested in making a door to door canvass for con tributions to the Heart Association's local, state and national program of medical research, community service and education. "Heart trouble touches more families in Modoc County than any other disease," Mrs. Demick said. Of the 83 people who died in Modoc County in 1956, 45 died be cause of heart disease. The patrol car traveled 403 less miles than the previous period with a total of 2.303 miles. Traffic citations issued were less by 24 with a count of 19 personal moving tickets, 12 parking ana live warning, a total ot 31. Booths will run con tinuously from 3 p.m. through the evening. A spaghetti dinner will be served from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Adults will be served for 75 cents, children for 50 cents.
