NOVEMBER 6, 1957 Meeting Set By Foresters The November meeting of the Shasta Cascade Chapter American Society of Foresters, will be held on Friday, November 8, instead of Saturday as announced at the Oc tober meeting, according to C. S. Glidden, secretary of the chapter. A Held trip is planned in audi tion to the monthly dinner. Mem bers and guests will meet at I p.m. on Friday at Klamath Agen cy. From there they will inspect the Johns-Manville woods operation. Dinner will start at 6:30 p.m. in the basement of the Catholic Church at Chiloquin. Bill Graham, manager of the local J-.M opera tion, will be dinner speaker. Voting Heavy In Lakeview LAKEVIEW A total of 820 votes was cast in Tuesday's city election here, one of the largest turnouts in many years. .Mayor Howard Goodnough was reelected to his second term, de feating Ernest Freeman. The vote was m to 334. Jack Pendleton, incumbent treas urer, was unopposed on the ballot and polled 733 votes. - 1 he recorder s scat was vacant and . three candidates had filed. Voting showed Les Pardue. 376: Kd Calderwood, 295 and Mildred Jarrett, 147. Two councilmcn were elected from a slate of five. Fox, 38. of Red Bluff was arrested Monday by Dunsmuir police lor having no brake light im a newly purchased jeep and having transferred the back license plate from his passenger car that was towing the jeep.
