(Bud) Arnold, Klamath Falls real estate broker who died October 21, was held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, October 25, from O'Hair's Memorial Chapel. Students in high schools nil over the United Stales will lake the standard tests and awards from $100 to $2,200 will be made to the winners. Aboul 1U6.000- seniors partici pated in the program Inst year, representing 12.500 schools. Seven thousand five hundred semitinal isls were selected from 3,200 schools. Merit Scholarships were award ed to 836 seniors, making this the largest independent scholarship program in the history of Ameri can education. Some 57 business corporations and foundations took part in the 1956-37 scholarship program. ' Washington 65 50 Yuma Homecoming Event Slated Southern Oreaon College homo- coining celebration October 25 andi 26 will kick off Friday night with! a variety show. Saturday morning i a parade will start at Ashland s Lithia Park, proceed up Main Street and return to the Plaza by way of the new couplet. It will in elude a color guard, the Kiltie Band of Ashland, six high school bands of approximately 300 stu dents and float entries from SOC organizations. A luncheon for Hobes alumni will be held at noon at the Britt Student Center, followed by the football game which will pit the SOC Haiders against Oregon Col lege of Education of Monmouth on the new Fuller Field. Following the game, Sigma Ep silon Pi will hold its annual Home coming tea for returning mem bers, and an alumni get-together will be held in Britt Student Cen ter. The alumni dance Saturda night in the new Britt ballroom will conclude the gala weekend. George Olson and Bill Russell, Klamath Falls students, are chair men of lighted lawn decorations for the weekend. Lowden was formerly su pervisor on the Fremont, and Smith was also on the staff.
