A flagstoned entrance patio. This HW-72 . . , , - THIS SEVEN-ROOM house has two living rooms, an inferior gallery and smart styling throughout. Statistic The overall dimensions of The House of The Week, HW 72 are 70 feet by 38 feet, 4 inches. The main level of the house has 1,572 square feet. The informal living room area has 546 square feet. is a practical feature and also adds a mark of distinction to the exterior design. This house lends itself to any lo cale and any climate. It is a year round beauty for any American, anywhere. The exterior design has been meticulously executed. The size, windows add unusual charm to the styling of this house; fullest use is made of all natural light sources. Flagstones, used on the en trance patio, also have been se lected as exterior surfacing mate rial for the front of the bedroom wing. Horizontal wood siding, as phalt shingles and a decorative 70'0 overhang en the root add con trast. A flagstone waH extends from the corner of the bedroom wing to make an enclosure for the en trance patie. Inside, there is a center hall. An angled lattice wall is a mod ish touch between the front door and the living room. The latticed wall also forms a vestibule which enlarges the apparent space ol the living room but at the same time maintains the center hall plan. Each of the three bedrooms has corner windows, good wall areas and spacious wardrobe closets. Double closets in the master bed room form an unusual entrance; they also serve as insulation against noise from other parts of the house. One bathroom is convenient to the center hall. HW-72 I AT THE FRONT of the informal living room is the gallery; its uses are varied. A graceful, open stair takes you from the dining room to the high er informal living room. A wrought iron railing gives a balconied ef fect to this room. A striking feature of this house is the gallery. It has a "two- story" window exposure, offering a wide and high vista. The gallery floor is reached by going down two steps from the kitchen hall. An openwork railing separates the gallery from the informal living room. There is a closet at one end of the gallery for storage purposes, and there is ample space fer the hobbyist to move around below in the gallerly.
