' The present rather high turnover of policemen with Klamath Falls force costs the city much more in the long run than would an in crease in funds for the depart ment, proponents uf the levy stale. Police Chief Hamilton points out that it costs about ta.OOO to train a new policeman, and if he doesnt stay with the force then this re cruit training goes on and on at the resulting high cost to the tax payers of the city. Although the Klamath Falls de partment is a modern organiza tion equipped with most of the po lice protection devices such as ra dio, etc., that other departments of cities of this size have, it is short due to resignations and oth er reasons) when it should have a minimum of 37 men to adequate ly serve the citizens.
