The Judge has decided to take a Utile time to sort things out. Meanwhile. 35-year-old Henry Gar ratt, the con man. Is nibbling bis nails and hoping for the best. A police Informer advised de tectives in suburban Harrow re cently that Garratt had a batch of hot diamonds he planned to ped aii to a receiver of stolen prop erty. The meeting, the Informer said, would take place in a certain sa loon, and Garratt would know the fence only from his descrip tion as a man in a brown coal and corduroy cap. On the appointed night, the de tectives got there first. One o their number. Constable Jeffrey Lyons, was dressed to play the part of the fence, and was ap proached by Garratt. Lyons testified Garratt flashed four rings and described them as stolen goods worth at least 1.000 pounds $2.300. Garratt offered the supposed fence a bargain price of 300 pounds ($840i for the four. At this point Detective Sgt.
