Tide Washing Clinic advises these basic washing steps: Before washing, make outline on paper or towel; hand wash quickly in lukewarm suds, squealing sudsy water through garment; rinse in lukewarm water; gently squeeze out as much water as possible; then lift sweater care fully from water so weight will not pull it out of shape; roll in towel end knead gently. LEMON PIE This pie will appeal to all con scientious menu planners because it Is made with milk and all home makers know that when milk is cooked into meals additional milk nutrients are added to the meal. It Is an easy way of supplying your family an extra measure of milk nutrients dressed up in an at tractive guise. HEAVENLY LEMON PIE 1 cup sugar S tablespoons cornstarch V teaspoon salt 3 cups milk 3 crrs, separaled 2 tablespoons butter 3 teaspoons grated lemon rind t cup lemon Juice 9-inch baked pie shell tablespoons sugar Mix 1 cup sugar, cornstarch and salt In top of double boiler; stir in milk gradually. Cook over boiling water until thick, stirring constantly. Cover; cook 3 minutes. Remove from heat. Beat egg yolks; stir in milk gradually. Re turn to double boiler; cook and stir 3 minutes. Blend In butter, rind and Juice. Cool. Pour into pie shell. Beat egg whites until stiff: beat In tablespoons sugar grad ually. Mound meringue ou filling: bake in hot oven, 436 degrees, I minutes or until light brown. Cool. Makes t servings. GLAZED CARROTS Just pour a little honey over cooked carrot and watch them sparkle.
