It is suggested that members bring a small gift under 50 cents for exchange which they have made themselves, either of home cooked or baked things, or sewing or craft work. While fishing in Hokendauqua creek he hooked one that lie said "was so strong II pulled me right off the edge of the dam" a 15 foot fall to the base of the dam. Santa Claus will be present too. An adult party complete with an exchange of gifts will be held Wednesday evening. Plans for these event were made at the last auxiliary meet ing. Donations were also made to the Christmas funds of veteran re habilitation, child welfare and edu cation programs of the auxil iary. A gift to the unit's adopted veteran and "Daddy" gifts to Gold Star children In the community were also authorized. Major Whitten Addresses BPW Major Oscar D. Whitten, air in stallation officer, Klamath Falls jet air base, was the speaker at the December 5 meeting of the Business and Professional Wom en's Club at the Willard Hotel. His topic was on the base and Its function in the warning, detec tion and destruction of hostile planes. He illustrated his tJlk with pictures on the operation of such an air base. Several thousand well-wishers were on hand to greet Paz and broke, through police lines to surround embracing mother and son, both of whom shed tears ot joy. Paz was returning from exile in the United States to reclaim his newspaper, La Prensa, which had been confiscated by Peron. Retirement Plans Announced-By Eachus DUNSMUIR Retirement plans have been announced by Clarence James Eachus who will be leav ing Southern Pacific this month after 46 years of employment. He will make his last run as an en gineer the last of the hionth. Eachus went to work as a fire man in July 1909 and was promot ed to engineer in August 1918. Deadline Set Washington state veterans of World. War I and II also must cember 31 to apply for their bon us, Vere A. McCarty, service of ficer for the Oregon Department of Veterans' Affairs, cautioned today. Applications must be filed with the state auditor, Olympia, Wash ington, by noon of December 31 to be accepted, McCarty warned. The deadline applies to World War II veterans or their surviv ors only. Korean veterans from Washington have until December 31, 1957 to apply. West Virginia veterans of both World War I and II almost must apply for their bonuses by De cember 31.
