Home Extension HENLEY A Joint meeting of the Henley and Merrill Home Extension units was held November 11. Subject for study was "Picture Framing and Selection," led by Hone Holbrook. Members present were Thelma Melton, Sallie Manning, Joyce Mc Kune, Carter McKune, Elizabeth Stewart, Margaret Love, Ethylda Croft, Wlnneta Brannon, Florence DeLap, Ev Manning, Becky Man ning, Myrtle Fleming and Beth Williams. "Making Cakes Attractive," will be the demonstration for Decem ber 15 at the home of Florence DeLap. There will be a Christmas gift exchange at this meeting. Mrs. Dow Frakes, Mrs. Jack Briscoe. Mrs. C. W. Juller and Mrs. C. A. Fesler planned the banquet, which was served to 55 winners of the re cent experience contest. ' Church Begins Fund Drive DUNSMUIR A building fund drive was launched this week by the Methodist Church of Dunsmutr. Initial event of the drive was a "loyalty" supper at the Masonic Temnle on Sunday evening attend ed by 1R0 members of the congre gation. On Monday evening there was a dinner at the church for solicitors and their wives with 50 people present. A downtown headauartera has been established at 214 Pine Street and the drive Is belni directed bv .7. Eugene Cecil of San Mateo. The Rev. Robert DeWnlf. Meth odist pastor, explained that while professional direction of the drive has been obtained, all solicitation Ir being done by members o' the congregation and nlednes will be sought prlnclnally from the 200 families who have expressed Inter, est in the Methodist Church. The present building Is Inade- auate. the Rev. DeWolf said, and the aim of the drive is to as. sure funds for a new church. The first report on the drive will be made Friday evening and sun day, December 11. has been deslg- MERRILL HIGH NEWS By "DOK1S RAINES and DOROTHY DANOSKY The race was on when, the girls tried to catch a boy at the Sadie Hawkins Party on Friday, Novem ber. 18. This annual event is spon sored by the sophomore class. One of the highlight of the sen ior year Is getting pictures taken. This was done on Sunday, Novem ber 20, at Ferebee Studio. . An iriterschool dance meeting was held at Merrill on Tuesday. November 22, with students from Merrill, Malln, and Tulelake par ticipating. A Thanksgiving Assembly was given by the Junior class on No vember 23. A large American Flag was presented to the high school by Mrs. Ervln Snapp In memory of her son, Charles. O.A.A. awards were also given out at this as sembly. Six weeks tests were taken last week so everyone Is anxious to receive their report cards.
