Farm Sykes Joins Army Reserve A Klamall) Falls man Is among the 64 Oregomans who have taken advantage of the Army Reserve's six months active duty training program since the passage of the Armed Forces Reserve Act of 1955 on August S, Sfc. H. C. Collier of the Klamath Falls Army Reserve cenier, reported today. Collier said that he is Lawerence Hamilton (Larry) Bykes, 17, son of Mrs. Bettye Alexander Hooks, 1310 Lookout. He is enlisted in Com pany C, 311th. Military Police Bat talion, which meets on Tuesday evenings In Klamath Falls. Collier said that Sykes, along with the majority pf the men enlisting under the program, requested de ferment of the active duty period' until he completed high school. However, he said, the Sixth Army , headquarters In San Francisco re ported that aljout 43 men from the ; western stfttes have begun their active duty training period. ! Another Klamath Falls man, Ed-! ward Moorman, 17, 2514 South Sixth Street, has also enlisted in the program. Collier said, but his enlistment was not completed in time to be Included in the current count. He said that Moorman also ;oined Company C, 311th Military Police Battalion.
