Their plane was grounded overnight twice on the return 'trip. Their youngest son and wife; Mr. and Mrs. Dick Smith, are expecied to day. At the end of his leave he will be sent to the Far East. Maternal grand parents are Mr. and Mrs. Jack Storey of Malin. Brace has two older sisters. Hospitalized Mrs. Maurice L Schmidli underwent surgery at Klamath Valley Hospital Friday November 18. She is now conval esclng at her, home in Malin. A Potluck Supper sponsored by the chamber of commerce, will be held Saturday night at 6:30 o'clock at the Broadway Hull In Malln for members of the ' Malm football team. Bliss re turned home Sunday from a visit to Cottage Grove. Don Jacob t- of Dairy came to his mother's Seven Mile Ranch near Fort Klamath Friday to 1 round up several head of horses to take home. He was assisted by Fred Barlow, Mrs. Jacob's ranch foreman. Eleven mem bers were present. Picture framing ws the project for this meeting. Hope Holbrook, county agent, ex plained and demonstrated this pro ect. The next meeting, which will be held December lb, will be "Cake Decorating." Members are asked to bring two or three bottle caps, one flat bottom caks or pie tin, and pictures of attractively decor ' ated cakes. Van Vac tor, Tuesday found William Eas ter, proprietor of the California Cash Grocery, not guilty of selling beer to minors. Easter; who was tried before the Judge without a jury, was ar rested on complaint of the father of a 17-year-old boy who was al leged to have boupht six bottles of beer from the defendant. Through his attorney. R. F. Mc Laren, Easter presented testimony to show that at the time of the purported- beer sale he was on a hunting trip. JIRY WAIVED Joseph Y. Woman Given 10-Day Sentence Barbara Fletcher. 26-year-old Spokane, Washington, nurse, ar rested at the scene of a stabbing affray, was sentenced to 10 days in the county jail late Tuesday by District Judge D. ,E. Van Vactor. The nurse was taken into cus tody Monday night by Sheriff Mur ray Britton and State Policeman Dick Finnell after Frank Ealey, 48-year-old construction worker, was found near death in a bouse at 651 Highway 97. t. Britton said Ealey had been stabbed in the chest and an ar tery was severed. He suilcred great loss of blood. The wounded man was taken to Klamath Val ley Hospital in a Knler ambulance. District Attorney Richard Bees- ley said Wednesday morning he Is still investigating tile Fletcher woman's possible connection with the stabbing. When she appeared before Judge Van Vactor and entered a plea of guilty to the drunkenness charge. the nurse said she was so Intox icated she had no recollection of what transpired in the house on Highway 97. Klamath Forger Caught In Nevada Jerry Lee Maxwell, 28-ycar-old ex-convlct, described by Sheriff Murray Britton as a "fast man with a fountain pen," was arrest ed late Tuesday in Reno, Nevada, on a Klamath CHunty warrant charging him with forgery. According to the sheriff. Max well was the author of more than $1,000 in bogus checks passed in Klamath Falls business establish ments. An alleged accomplice of Max well's. Harry Walter Lewis, plead ed guilty before Circuit Judge Da vid R. Vandenberg to a bogus check charge. He will be sentenced Monday. Dunsmuir Court Gives Cash Found In Gutter DUNSMUIR It waa a Joyous occasion in Dunsmuir judicial court Monday afternoon when Mrs. Muriel Hector, a Dunsmuir house wife was given a county warrant entitling her to $550. Mrs. Hector had found isso in a gutter in Dunsmuir on Septem ber 11, 1954, and had complied with the law by reporting her find to the police and advertising for Its owner. No one had turned up to claim the five crumpled 1100 bills plus two twenties and a ten that Mrs. Hector turned over to Duns muir police. Convention co-chairmen Robert Chandler and William Niskenan or the host Bend , Chapter of the League anticipates upwards of 250 delegates, visitors and guests from 30 league chapters throughout the state.
