Robinson, vice president of the board efireetajri of the building association. The lodge spent $125,000 tobuy the new building 'and remodel it. Howard Burkhard was the contractor and Howard R. Perrin the architect. Bate Lumber Company of Mer lin, with an offer of $138. 673. 15 was the highest of the 5 bidders who participated in the first sale. That tract, which contains an estimat ed 3,818.000 board feet, is located near WUdervllle in Josephine coun ty. The bid price for Douglas fir, the major species, in the tract was 36.75 per thousand board feet. In the second .sale, Fir Milling and Planing Company of Ashland was successful bidder for a tract containing an estimated. 3.296.000 board feet .of mixed pine and fir species located near Buck Lake in Klamath County. Three other bid ders participated In the sale. Pri ces offered by Pir Milling and Planing Company in Uieir final bid included $38.00 per thousand for Douglas iir, $50.00 for ponderosa pine. $51.00 for suxar pine, and 58.00 for white pine. Beginning In 1935 with the Insti tution of the Lodge of Perfection and ending in 1939 with the Con sistory, which now constltutea the Scottish Rita bodies, this Masonlo organisation now has mora than 600 members. Klamath Falls Scottish Rite of ficials said Friday that their new Temple la second to none In the state of Oregon. The lodge officials said that their particular organisation began about 1931 with the Cascade Scot tish Rite Club when a few Masons met to celebrate the Easter festi val. For the Information of those who may not be familiar with the dif ferent branches of Masonry the lodge officials said that there are three branches of Masonry in the world. They are the Blue Lodge, con sisting of the first three degrees, and the Scottish Rite and York Rite. Klamath Falls has two Blue Lodges. Klamath Lodge No. 77 and Crater Lake Lodge No. 211. They made this statement after they heard some complaints about service hours at a special meeting called by city .councilmen to dis cuss the garbage situation. Several hotel owners complained that collections were too early, causing a disturbance for" sleeping guests. Owners of some business es said that the present early morning collections forced them to leave refuse In- the; alleys over night. sr '.. j .' ". ' Also discussed was the ordinance passed on September 8 requiring commercial establishments to pro vide boxes to protect garbage cans sind prevent garbage from being blown around and Uttering the streets.
