Many head Student Nurse Dies In Crash CHARLOTTE, N.C. W A chartered bus loaded with student nurses from Charlotte crashed In to a big truck 15 miles north of here early Thursday morning. One nurse was killed and 32 were In jured. Some of those hurt are in critical condition. The dead nurse was identified s Clara Jean Dillingham, 19, of Weaverville, N.C. . The bus was demolished. ARRESTS ANNOUNCED TAIPEI, Formosa I Police Thursday announced the arrest last week of 17 persons said to have been members of a two-way smuggling ring between Hong Kong and Formosa. USAF Reservist Wins Promotion Dr. Frederick A. Krauel, Klam ath Falls dentist, was promoted recently to lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force reserve. Lt. Col. Krauel. a member of Flight B. 0417 Air Reserve Squadron, was promoted on orders from the Con tinental Air Command, Denver, Colorado, under the 1954 Reserve Officers Promotion Act. , Official word of Lt. Col. Krauel's promotion was relayed to him by Maj. John W. Nash, commander of Flight B, at the regular weekly meeting of the air reserve flight Wednesday night. The reserve unit meets four Wednesdays a month in the Fluhrer's Bakery building on Broad Street at 8 p.m. Lt. Col.
