Siskiyou Bureau Gets New Name WEED The name of the Siski you County Home Department was voted ohaDjcd to Farm Bureau Women at a combined meeting of the Edgewood Home Department and the Sharta Valley Home De partment of Montague, held Tues day. October 18. at the Edgewood Farm Bureau Hall. Mrs. Eldoii Hoy. Weed, chairman of the de partment group, conducted the meeting which was preceded by a covered-dish luncheon. - Mrs. Gertrude Studcr. home demonstrator of the extension serv ice, headed the list of speakers and outlined the activities planned for the coming year. Mrs. Mildred Fiock. Montague, reported on her recent attendance at the Gover nor's Conference on Education held In Sacramento. She attended as a delegate of the Siskiyou County Farm Bureau. Mrs. Oliver Solus. Weed, chair man of the Edgewood Home De partment, announced that a public card party, first in a series to be sponsored by the Edgewood Farm Bureau, will be held at the Edgewood Farm Bureau Hall Sat. urday night. Montague; two tap dance routines presented by Janet Mazzei, Weed; and the showing of a film, ' Human Rights Railmen Abandon Short Truck Line McCLOUD A plan to establish a subsidiary short-haul truck line between Burney and McCloud has been abandoned by the McCloud River Railroad Company. Reason given by railroad officials is the preat number of private truck lines serving the area. The railroad requested the state public utilities commission to can cel the permit, Issued in August. If potential customers of the truck line determine that there Is justification for the service, an other implication to the PUC will be mad. SPECIAL ' SAAR SESSION SAARBRUECKEN.
