Photo by Ferebee Franks-Beeson Vows Exchanged In First Baptist Church Rites The summer weddinfr of Phyllis j. Beeson to John J. Pranks was attended by 200 relatives and friends many of them from out of town. Vows were exchanged at 8 p.m. In First Baptist Church the Rev. Ernest E. Hambrick. officiant. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Beeson, Dorns. and her father gave her in mar riage. The bridegroom Is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Franks, J8C5 Summers Lane. Large arrangements of gladioli and polled palms Illuminated by lighted tapers In floor candelabra, were church decorations. The bride's gown was of pearl pink satin made with a full cathe dral train. The bodice of satin and tulle was made with long sleeves and featured a yoke of tulle with an off-the-shoulder effect achieved with rows of matching tulle ruf fles. Her fingertip veil was held by a Mary Stuart halo outlined with a narrow matching ruffle. Her cres cent shaped bouquet was a laven der orchid surrounded with stepba notis and white rosebuds. The matron of honor, Mrs. Gayle Brock, cousin of the bride from Harrlsburg, Oregon, wore rose pink dress made wllh a scoop neck, long torso and pleated skirt. Hers and the other attendants were all maae wnn an over-iayer of pink net. Bridesmaids, Mrs. Howard Dow ell, bride's cousin, Bnrtnglteld, Ore gon: Mrs. Ted McLeod, Redding and JoAnne Borden, wore dresses made exactly as the matron of honor's in pink, brchld and vlo- Jet respectively. Tnelr bouquets were all orescent shored of white yinujuu nunuuiiucu wiui baiiiauuiin In varying shades of each dress. Headpieces were also In the same shades. Each wore a single strand of pearls gifts from the bride. Little flower girl, sherry Beeson, 4-year-old .sister of the bride, wore rose pink. Ringbearer was 3-year-old Jeffry Brock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oayle Brock. Bly Couple Weds In Reno Chapel BLY Patricia Nell Bates, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Bales, and David Kdward Clemens Jr., son ul Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Clemens, all of Bly, were mar rled in Unity Chapel, Reno, Au gust 13. The service was read by Dr. Robert V. Caswell. The bride and bridegroom at tended Bly schools moii of their school years, Clemens is presently employed by Weyerhaeuser Tim ber Company at Camp 6. They are at home In Bly in a house owned by Die Robert Winfields adjacent to their property. The night following the nuptia'.s, a family dinner was givtn at Ilia Bates nome in honor of the newly weds. Guests included jnembers of both families. it- Gordon D. Beeson, bride's broth er, served as best man; and Nich olas Long, Dunsmulr; David Cox and Graydon Xiwyn ushered. Organist, Mrs. Dean Morrow, Eugene, accompanied soloists, Mrs. Byard Kelly and Joe Allen, both from Dorrls. For her daughter's wedding. Mrs. Beeson chose" a dress of Wedgewood blue lace over taffeta with matching accessories. Her corsage was an orchid. The senior Mrs. Franks wore a lavender dress with white accessories and ner cor sage was also an orchid. Phvllls Is a graduate of Butte Valley High School, Dorns. and at tended one year of college at Nampa, Idaho. She is employed at the First National Bank here. Franks was a student at KUHS before serving lour years In the U.S. Navy. He Is presently em ployed by Southern Pacific. The date ot the wedding, July 29, was also the S4th wedding anniversary of her parents. The couple honeymooned along the coastal highway, through the Redwoods and in Southern Cali fornia. Be and filberts they also have prune trees. Wepsler and Klerk were born In Holland. While raising iunds for refugees during World War II, Wcpster met Nick Klerk's neph ew, John Klerk, and subsequently the Nick Klerks. For several years the Wepsters have Included Fort Rock In their vacation itinerary. The plan to leave the Fort Rock country in time to make preparations for the nut harvest. Also guests of Uie Klerks are Mrs. Klerk's brother and sister-in-law, Mr, and Mrs. Grant Hill from Portland. Royer family during their stay in Klamath Falls. Dunlap, for many years identified with newspaper work, was Northwest Division Manager for United Press in Portland, dur ing their Oregon residency. He is presently assistant to the president of Santa Ana College. Mrs. Dunlap is on the editorial staff of the Los Ang eles Times where he was formerly telegraph editor. Francile Flook, noble grand, pre sided at the business session when final plans were made for the of ficial visit of Erma Fream, presi dent of the Rebekah Assemblies of California. The lodges of District No. 69 of the assemblies will meet for a dinner at the Weed Community Church at 6:30 p.m., August 24, preceding the joint official visit scheduled for 8 p.m. at the White Pine Hall, with the district lodges participating. - Silver bowls with arrangements of various colors of cosmos decor ated the refreshment tables for the Wednesday night meeting. The hospitality committee was headed by Mrs. Mable Pratt, assisted by Mrs. Robert Porter, Mrs. Myrtle Williams. Mrs. H. C. Strothers, Mrs. Claire Mulvany, Mrs. Harry Spence, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Stone and Verna Lynch. Thirty members attended the meeting. SHASTA LILY CIRCLE AT WEED WEED Members of the Weed Shasta Lily Circle, Companions of the Foresters of America, will en tertain with a banquet at the Pied mont Hotel In Mount Shasta Tues day night, August 30. The event will honor the ofiicial visit of Eve lyn Anderson, grand chief com panion of the state of California to the Weed Circle.' Hie visit will be held In the Weed Foresters Hall immediately following the banquet and mem bers of the McCloud circle will be guests at the visit. Twenty members attended the Thursday night meeting. John Dunlap's mother was also an early settler in Oregon and both lived In the state until about 1911 when they were married and started housekeeping in California.
