Condition Of Roads Told Motorists traveling north on Highway 97 will find pavements bare and dry from Klamath Falls to Chiloquln, AAA reported this morning. There Is packed snow ' and Ice on the highway from Chil oquln to the Junction. From the Junction to Warm Springs the high way Is bare and dry. From Warm Springs to Government Camp there ; is Ira hut the road ha been well- sanded. Pavement was wet this morning from there to Portland. Branilf, 315 Jefferson, was among some 132 outstanding students Anderson Plea Postponed Time for pleading In the James Quintan Anderson first degree murder case has been postponed from Saturday to Monday, Circuit Judge David R. VandenDerg an nounced Friday. Anderson Is accused of the shot' gun slaying of Richard David Mil ler. 29-year-old member of a wealthy former Tucson, Arizona family at Bealty on November 6, State Policeman Larry Berg mann. who arrested Anderson, said the shooting followed a fist fight between defendant and Mil ler. . Judge Vandenberg said he post poned the time for pleading at the ' request of Defense Attorney Her bert P. Welch of Lakeview who notified the court he would be una able to appear Saturday due to other legal business. Anderson Is held without ball in the county jail. He also Is await ing trial on a charge of assault with Intent to kill. He is accused of participating In a "night of terror" attack upon Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sidney Menasco Jr. of Grants Pass. They were under gunfire for an entire night after being way laid by two men on a lonely road near Beatty. Attorney Welch has indicted he will ask for a change of venue in both cases on grounds his client could not obtain a fair trial in Klamath County. 8 a.m. today at Chemult, three de grees warmer than official AAA temperature here. Overcast skies were reported on Willamette Pass with temperature of 30 degrees at 8 a.m. at the summit. There was ice and packed snow from the Junction of Highway 58 to the tunnel. From the tunnel to Portland the pavement was wet. There were spots of ice and snow on Highway 97 south to Redding. Very slippery conditions were re ported around Mt. Hebron, but no chains were required this morn ing. Weather was overcast between here and Medford with spots of lec on an otherwise bare pavement on Highway 66. On Highway 66 to Lakeview, weather . was reported broken. There was packed snow and spots of ice on the highway around Bly. Lakeview reported 27 degrees at 8 a.m. today. There was packed snow and spots of ice on Highway 230 to Dia mond Lake this morning with 16 inches of roadside snow. Plows are operating and chains should bs carried. Hiehwavs 39 and 139 from Klam ath Falls to Alturas have Ice and snow with chains required on Can. by hill. Highway 395 from Alturas to Reno was reported rough with packed snow. Chains were required this morning. There was 10 Inchms of new snow at Susanville and six inches new snow at Ker.o. Man Injured In Auto Accident One man was treated at ' the Klamath Valley Hospital and re leased following an accident on South Sixth Street shortly before midnight Thursday. James William Evatt. 6447 Har lan Drive, was treated for back in juries after his car was struck in the rear by another vehicle operat ed by Alfred Ray AILstatt, Cozy Hotel. The accident cccurred in front of the Klamath Tractor and Implement Company, state police, reported. Eye witnesses told officers the Allstatt car, traveling at a high rate of speed, was unable to avoid a rearenn collision . when Evatt pulled onto the highway in front of him. The Allstatt car skidded, bounced off the rear ot the Evatt vehicle, hit a highway post and stopped when it hit a tractor parked on the implement com pany's lot.
