The over-all width ol nd tnainr mnin,ina nlinamanle feature the 1965 Cadillac, it was an nounced today by Don E. Ahrens, General Manager of the Cadillac Motor Car Division and Vice President of General Motors. The new Cadillao went on display at the Dick B. M 1 1 1 e r Company, 710 Klamath, on Tuesday, November 23. "This year,", said Mr. Ahrens, "Cadillac designers and engineers present to the motoring public a line of automobiles blending new functional designs with important engineering advancements." Further commenting on new sty ling features, Mr. Ahrens said, The 1965 Cadillac is immediately Identified by Its distinctive front end blending refinement of a line ly etched cellular grille design with strength through the massive line of bumper, grille guards and rounded lowness of the hood. There Is a whole new body side panel treatment carrying the eye to the , sweeping and sharply defined fend ers tnat are an integral part of the car and characteristically Caoillac Lending a new touch to the dis-i tinctive Cadillao rear end, our de signers have added small chrome j louvers with studied placement to i the body panel just below the rear deck lid. "To present a sleeker over-all ap pearance in our Series 62 Sedan and Fleetwood Series 60 Special Sedan, the Florentine curve rear I window design has been adapted . from the Cadillac Coupe and Coupe I de Ville. Tile center door pillars on our ! Fleetwood Series 60 Special Sedan ! have been made much narrower than are normally used on sedan models. Besides furnishing a fine ly styled open effect as on our Coupe and Coupe de Ville, they al low greater unobstructed vision without sacrificing structur- the center pillar including door frames is 2J8 inches compared with 5' Inches last year. We feel that this is another major Cadillac design step toward giving motor ists the freedom of sight they desire. Coupled with styling advance ments ot our 1955 line are many major engineering refinements. Ahrens continued. "Among these Is the development of a 250 horse power overhead valve V-8 engine. In developing this new engine with a compression radio of 9:1, Cadil lac has achieved a smoother appli cation of this added power as well as Increasing fuel economy and engine life. MRS. J. A. HA Advisory Group Named Appointment of a five member State Advisory Committee for the Farmers Home Administration its Oregon was announced last wee by K. W. Sawyer, stcte director. The appointments become effective immediately and extend from one to three years. , Albert C. Zemke, Madras, was appointed for one year Two year appointments went to Owen M. Cook. Albany and John L. Nieder meyer, Medford. B. Josephine Fox ol Silverton and James W. Leslie of Ontario re ceived three year appointments. The new committee replaces ? nine-member group whose appoint ments expired last December. Three Children, Mother Killed LOUISVILLE, Ky. im A 45-year old mother and three children burned to death last nisht In a fire that destroyed their tworoom home near here. Three other children were hos pitalized with severe burns. Their' father, John Everett Dean Sr., 45, escaped with minor burns.- The fire apparently started from a kerosene stove. Mrs. Pansy Dean and three sons, John Everett Jr., 17, Henry, 12, and James, 8, were overcome by smoke and flames as they appar ently sought to reach a rear door. La .
