In addition, sever al barracks buildings are also filled with farm labor not assocl' ated with any contractor. They are available to work as individuals or families. Tha trailer court in Newell Is beginning to fill up with harvest workers, also. Jenkins stated. Bill Bray Is 1n charge of the trailer camp which has a capacity of 64 trailers. The potato growers of the area met in Tulelake last week and established rates for the 1954 po tato harvest: Picking, 6 cents per 60-pound stub; bucking and swamping, 80 cents per ton; hauling. S1.20 per ton; contractors s fee. 40 cents per ton; other labor, such as working on bulkers, cellar men, etc., $1.25 per hour. It wns the feeling of the group that these rates were high enough that they should stand for the en tire season. Ullman On Klamath Tour Al Ullman, Democratic candi date lor Congress, was barnstorm Ing through the Klamath Basin Tuesday. He was scheduled to make stops in Bly, Beatty, Bonan- i, Dairy and Langcll Valley. On Thursday Ullman will attend a series of Democratic meetings in the northern section of Klamath County. A luncheon honoring the Baker office-seeker will be given at the Fort Klamath Hotel. Later Thursday, Ullman and Mrs. Dorothy Lowell, Democratic candidate for the state legislature. will address a rally in Gilchrist. On Friday, Ullman is slated to address political gatherings in Merrill and Malin. At 6:30 p.m. he will be the guest of honor at a potluck dinner sponsored by Dem ocrats of the South Suburban Dis trict at the Klamath County Fair grounds. Wl A 'court at tempt to revoke the charter of the National Assn. for the Advance ment of White People has brought a promise from iu president that the NAAWP will pursue its course throughout the country. Bryant Bowles took this stand yesterday in Philadelphia after Delaware Atty. Gen. H. Albert Young began legal action in the Court of Chancery here to have the association's charter revoked. Bowles said that if the associa tion lost Its charter in Delaware "we will go into the 47 other states and seek franchises, and falling that, we will take to the U.S. mails." Young said he based his attempt to have the charter revoked on the grounds that active NAAWP opposi tion to racial integration in the high school at Miltord, Del., vio lated that section of its charter which promises to "promote and protect the constitutional guaran tees of citizenship in the United States." Chancellor Collins J. Sykes or- dered the NAAWP to appear Oct. 32 to show cause why a prelimi nary injunction should not be is sued preventing it from further exercise of its corporate powers. He directed the attorney general's office to file a detailed complaint on or before Oct. 14 and gave the NAAWP until Oct. 20 to file a counterclaim.
