Merrill families visiting In the Bay Area recently Included the Don West, and Mr.and Mrs. Pierce Hodges and family. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Moore drove to Winchester Bay from there to Portland, back through Bend, where they visited the Louis Moores. Roy and Clyde Fox, Johnnie and Melvln Rodgers have returned from a fishing trip to Gold Beach. Lily Winter Is visiting In Merrill ' at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Loper. She will return to Olympla, Washington, to complete nurses' training at St. Peter a hospital 'DWest and Sara. and Mr. and Mrs. George wimams were some of the Merrill residents attending the Oregon state fair. Peggy Carson and Kathy Moore leave Thursday morning for the fair, where they will demonstrate flower arranging Friday morning. Mrs. William LaFay. Caldwell. Idaho, visited over the weekend at the home of her mother Mrs. Sara Hodges. A group or oampure gins i are working for their Torch bearer's rank fulfilled another re quirement when they went, to we gravel pit north of Fort Klamath for a three day camping trip. They were accompanied by their leader Mrs. Dale West. Mrs. Naomi French, executive director of Campfire, and Mrs. Troy Quails. In the group were Judy Dewey, Mar garet Quails, Donna Carson, Mary McCullough, Bonnie Chojnacky, Beverly Moore and Olenda Story. Holiday visitors here were form er residents, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Heaton, who now live In Weaver vllle. California. They visited with the Tommy Coles and other friends. Paschal Hodges and Max Hartle rode reported "no luck" on a re cent fishing trip to Winchester Bay. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hunnlcutt and John visited Mr. and Mrs. K C. Burkes In Empire, Oregon, and went deeo sea fishing. Mrs. James Hodges and her mother Mrs. Ruby Black, and the Hodaes children visited In Red Bluff with relatives. James drove south to bring his family home. Mr. and Mrs. Pete Calise en. Joyed a weeks' visit in Coos Bay with their son Frank and his fam ily- Mrs. Leon Street reviewed the book "Home Below Hell's Can yon" at the September 2 meeting of the Merrill Library ciuo at me home of Mrs. Robert Trotman. Plans were discussed for a rum mage sale In the near future, and members are asked to meet Sep tember 21, at the home of the pres ident Mrs. Harvey Denham. to prepare articles for the sale. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Parazoo were hosts In August to Mrs. Para zoo's mother, Mrs. Mary Emery, Mission, South Dakota, whom she had not seen for 20 years, and to her sister and brother. In - Uv, Mr. and Mrs. Don Whipple and daughter Mary Janes of Lead. South Dakota. Mrs. Emery has six grandchildren and one great grandchild here that she had never seen. Their older son. James Zeller, con- ducted Sunday services at the Mis sion and at Beatty, as he has sev. eral weeks this summer. James Zeller will teach this year In Tule lake. Mr. and Mrs. Elton Romine and daughters traveled to Centralia Washington over the Labor Day weekend to attend a funeral. Marclne Ericksen. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Erling Ericksen, Agency Lakeshore district, has signed to attend OTI this fall: be ginning a secretarial and busi ness course. She was graduated this spring from Chiloquin. Ted Siemens, valedictorian a t Chiloquin this spring, will ' attend Oregon State College where he will major in pharmacy. The family. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Siemens. Ted and Dick, look a last family outing over Labor Day and camped on Jackson Creek. Among those camping at Huck leberry Mountain over Labor Day were Mr. and Mrs. Dwlght Kirch er. Donna and Diane, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Elliott, Mrs. Earl Hall, Janet and Lyle. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Isgrigg and two daughters moved this week to Idaho, where they have relatives. Ramona Is still wearing her arm In a sling, recovering from a fall from a car July 3. Isgrigg's home Is being occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Humphrey, Louise and Arthur, who run the Chief Theater. Newcomers to Chiloquin. but not to the area, are Mr. and Mrs. Ross Mclntyre and three young chil dren. Mclntyre will teach the 5th grade this year, replacing Mrs. Sam Rife, and will be the only new person on the faculty for the lower six grades. Mclntyre s, who are living In the Gienger apartments, moved here from Sprague River. Sally and Bill Swanson will ar rive this week from Hlllsboro where they have spent the sum mer with relatives. George and his father, Leonard Swanson, moved back to Chiloquin a week ago, af ter spending the summer in Ash land, where Leonard took treat ments. He Is much Improved and has a wheel chair he can manip ulate. Mr. and Mrs. Frank DiUllo and children drove last Sunday to Crescent to visit with relatives and to bring Mrs. DIUllo's mother, Mrs. JamQH Bowman, home. Frieda counseled for three camps (his summer. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Draper and Danny have moved to Williamson River from Anderson, California. Draper has a hay baling operation in this area. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hansen, Agency Lakeshore, are her two daughters from California, Tw ' and Mrs. H. O. Patterson. Bob will miss the first week of school. he will be a junior this year, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Taylor and Steve, and Bud Taylor, Everett, and Mrs. Tom' Nelson, Klamath Falls, visited last week with Mrs. Eva Phllpott and family. Mrs, Tom Taylor Is Mrs. Philpott's niece. . Mr. and Mrs. King Hubble spent several days at Boise, Idaho, vis iting relatives. Mrs. Mason of Nebraska has been visiting her granddaughter Mrs. Roy Whitlach and lamuy. Mrs. Arden Bradbury has re turned to her home in Longview. after visiting her sister Mrs. Lloyd Hubble and family. Mrs. Helen LeBow. Burney. Cal ifornia, visited relatives in Bonan za last week. She has been re ceiving medical care In Klamath Falls. She attended the shower for Wllma Hubble and Charles Rob erts. The LeBows lived In Borinn za before moving to Burney sev- eral years ago.
