MERLE O'NEIL Weekend visitors at the Fred Longfellow ranch were Mr. and Mrs. Phil Carroll, Oroville, Cali fornia. They were accompanied by his brother and wife Mr. and Mrs. Jess Carroll also of Oroville. The Carrolls visited with other relatives at Lakeview during the rodeo weekend. Rev. and Mrs. H. N. Tragitt, Alturas, were dinner guests Wed nesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Longfellow. The Tra gitts have recently moved to. Al turas where he is the new pastor of the Episcopal Church. Mr. and Mrs. John O'Nell ac companied Mr. and Mrs. Alfred McGuffin oh a drive through War ner Valley Sunday afternoon. They went by way of Hogback Moun tain and returned by Adel. Out of town guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Cogburn for the three day weekend were the Cogburn sons and families, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Cogburn, Seattle, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Cogburn and Gary, Klamath Falls. The Donald Cogbums were on an extended vacation trip and from here they planned to visit several scenic points of interest before re turning home. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Clays nd' family were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Baxter Wednesday evening. Gloria Ayoutt has returned to New Pine Creek after spending the summer months helping out at the Bradley ranch. Mr.. and Mrs. Noel Benham, Co quille,. were calling on relatives Sunday at the home of Mrs. John O'Neil. Several relatives were guests of the Denny Watersons over the La bor Day weekend. Denny's sisters Dean and husband, Pittsburg. Cal ifornia, and the Jess Walkers, Klamath Falls. They left Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Gail Bentz and daughters of Oregon City were re newing friendships in Lake County over the Labor Day weekend. While here they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. James Snider and family. Also visiting at the Snider home Sunday afternoon were Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Mahan and fami ly, Martinez, California. Mr. and Mrs. Rawlins and family- have recently moved from the Deter ranch to the Bayes place. Both of these ranches are owned by Neal Elliott. Mr. and Mrs. Clem Adamson, Lakeview, were calling on friends Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Longfellow. Those from here who attended the funeral of Manuel Yribarren at the Catholice chuch in Alturas Monday morning, were Mr. and Mrs. Lee O'Neil, Mr. and Mrs. John O'Neil and Mr. and Mrs. Merle O'Neil. Mrs. Yribarren is a niece of John O'Neil. BArnette Carrol called o n Barbara Snider Saturday. She was accompanied by her parents Fred and Gussie Longfellow. Gorden arrived In Fort Klamath Sunday eve ning from Klamath Falls, where she had returned by plane from a weeks visit at Tillamook with her son Mr, and Mrs. Robert R. Gor den. he is affiliated there with the Mountain States power company Accompanying Mrs. Gorden or the plane trip to Portland the pre ceding week were her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Jockisch Gorden and Bobbie, who had spent two weeks visiting rela tives and friends here . and in Klamath Falls from Peoria, Dli- nols. At Portland the .Jockisch familv boarded a Diane for the ieturn trip to Peoria, and Mrs, Gorden went on to visit at Tillamook. Recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmore Nicholson were her oarents and sister, Mr, and Mrs. Joseph Monks and Kath leen. Lapwal. Idano; ner orotner, Jerry Monks, wtio is attending Gonzaga University in Spokane, another brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Monks, Yakima, and a third brother and bis fian cee, John Monks and Marion Sul livan, San Francisco. Thomas 0. Dyche spent the La bor Day weekend here from his place of employment at Hampton Siding, near Bend, where he is working for the Warren North west Construction Co. Accompany ing him to his home in the Agency Lake district was William E. Dav is, formerly of Fort Klamath, who is also employed at Hampton Sid. tag. Joan Loosley left Sunday for Portland, where she will teach third grade class in an elemen tary school, her first contract since graduating this spring from Oregon State College. She is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond S. Loosley of Fort Klamath. To be on hand for the opening day oi tne state lair at Salem, Mr. and Mrs. Warren (Lefty Wild Eagle) Wilder and three young sons left last Wednesday. Again tnis year tne colorful Indian fam ily will have a concession booth at the fair, featuring Indian novelties which are hand made by Lefty and his wile. Beaulieu had been employed here by the Modoc Lumber Co. Mrs. Beaulieu was, until recently, in partnership with Edward (Bud) Strong in the management of the Fort Klamath Hotel dining room and kitchen. Mrs. Rose Reese has returned to Whittter. California, after en Joying an extended stay with her son. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest L. Reese, at their Fort Creek motel. Spending the Labor Day week end with Mr. and Mrs. Neil Neil son and Kaimen Kay were Mr. and Mrs. Dick Young and Mrs. Eva Prltchett. Prlneville. While his wife went to Crater Lake Sunday with a party of rel atives, Hugh Routly stopped off in Fort Klamath, spending the time visiting old friends. He and Mrs. Routly are former local res idents now living in Klamath Falls.
