A young New Zealand Dairy farmer Is the first to be assigned for an Oregon visit this year. He Is John Matthew Whitlock, 23, from Knlraiifcn New Zealand. The farm homes at which he will stay have cot yet been selected. The International Fann Youth Exchange gives overseas young people, 18 to 28 years of age. a chance to see how Americans live. They live, work and play with farm lamllics. For each delegate Oregon sends to some other country, two exchangees spend two to three months in tills state. Each of these foreign visitors will also spend some lime In another state before returning home. Mrs. Winnlfrcd Olllen, state 4-H extension agent heading the IFYE program In Oregon, said each ex changee will probably .have an op portunity to stay with two or three dlflcrent farm families while here. By tills arrangement, they will stay from four to six weeks with each i family, working with them for room and board. Youths Held For Racket Attempt DETROIT W Raymond Ford and Willie Alfred, both 17, tried to make a toll bridge out of a new expressway overpass in Detroit, police said today. Police said the youths demanded money from school children to permit them to cross the overpass. The youths were held for Inves tigation of robbery not armed. Grand Jury Session Set Klamath County Grand Jury will go Into session again Monday to reconsider two criminal cases re submitted under orders from Cir cuit Judge Ulivid R. Vandenbeig. The delendants Involved are Ray mond J. Bodiuet, accused of com plicity In a parlor house robbery January 8 during which his accom plice, Edwin Coylc, was killed by a policeman, and Alfred Junior Carter, charged with manslaugh ter. Carter Is accused of slaying Cru.i Uiuueta In front of the Pastime Pool Hall on Christmas Eve. The Bodlnct case was resubmit ted by Judge Vandenberg after De fense Attorney A. C. Yaden filed a demurrer to the' previous Indict ment. The Carter case was resub mitted at the request of District Attorney Frank Alderson. Thirteen witnesses have been subpoenaed to appear before Uie grand jury.
