George Kurtz, Americanism chairman. Hicks spoke on the basic rea sons for America's economic suc cess over the rest of the world. O.' Hardman, 1821 Lancaster, become the bride of Gordon D. Beeson, son nf Mr. and Mrs. Howard Becsen. Dorris, In the Church of the Nazarene, January 23. The double-ring candlelight cere mony was read at 7:30 p.m. by the Rev. Wesley Crist in the pres ence of 150 friends and relatives. The bride was given In marriage by her father. White snapdragons and chrysan themums were featured flowers in the church decorations; and the tnpers in the floor candelabra wore lighted by Collin Beeson and John ny Howe. Mrs. Wesley Crist, accompanied Paul Remmenca, who sang "O Promise Me." "Because," and the "Wedding Prayer." The bride's, gown of heavy slip per satin was made with a sweet heart neokllnc; and the very full skirt, with panels of lace inserted at each front-side from waistline to hem. extended into a sweeping train. The bodice was trimmed with lace detail at the neckline end the long fitted sleeves were pointed at the wrists. Her fingertip veil of net was edged with a ruffle of the same material: and a Mora of dainty pearl flowers framed her dark hair. The bridal bouquet was of white carnations centered with a white purple-throated orchid. She wore the traditional blue garter and a lucky penny was placed i her slipper. Her only Jewelry was a single strand of pearls, gift from the bridegroom. , Nadine (Mrs. Paul) Remmenga, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Her bouquet and. headband were of fuschia carnations; and her gown was multi-colored net over Nile green taffeta worn with a stole of the net. Cora Hardman, also sister, was bridesmaid, dressed the same as tile matron of honor with headband and bouquet in yellow and white. Other bridesmaid, Phyllis Beeson, sister of the bridegroom, was dressed as the other two, with bou quet and headband of yellow and white. Billy Remmenga was ring-bearer. Flower girl, Sherry Beeson, wore ft pale green floor length dress and her flowers were yellow and white. Jerry Tomseth, Springfield, was best- man; and ushers were Mel Hayes and Ron Prosise. Mrs. Hardman wore a rose-pink faille dress with matching hat and black accessories to her daughter's wedding. Her corsage was of pink and white carnations. The bridegroom's mother chose a winter-white dress with navy ac cessories; and her corsage was the same as Mrs. Hardman's. Guests were received in the re ception hall of the Congregational Church. Pouring were Alctha Bon ner and Jean Hayes. Emery, son of Walter. Enery, San Jose; antLMrs. Louise A. Mario, Palo Alto. The bride-elect is a graduate of KUHS class of '47; and is now a senior at San Jose Bible College in San Jose. Hebron Girl Scout troop met January 22 for the election of of ficers, j Palsy Yales was chosen pres ident; Dcamin Jones, vice pres ident; Mary Jane Decker, secre tary; Marlcne Andrus, reporter. Last Friday, the troop went to the Mt. Hebron home of Dickie Brook to see the pigeon which he has tamed. The scouts are earning Murray, Janet Spiers, Mrs. Mur ray and Mrs. Spiers assisted. For travel, Geruldlne wore a brown suit with pink hat and gloves; dark brown shoes t and bag. After a trip to Portland! the couple is now at home in Monterey. Afterwards they held a meeting at the home of Mrs. C. A. Abell. Valley Groups To Hear Local Band Two engagements In Ashland and Medford were announced today for Baldy Evans and his band. The band will play Saturday night at the annual Valentine Day dance at the Elks Club. Monday night the Klamath Falls musical group will play at the Jack son County Shrine Club dinner dance to be held at the Rogue Val ley Country Club.
