' MANY FRIENDS HERE . . . will learn with interest of the engagement of Virginia Shipler to Kenneth N. Degerman . . . recently announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Shipler, formerly of Klamath Falls, now living in Eugene. ' A previous announcement was made at a Christmas Eve party in that town. Her fiance is the son of Mr. and Mrs. K. R, Degerman, also Eugene. , She is a graduate of KUHS; arid will be graduated from nurses training school at Emanuel Hospital in Portland this spring. Degerman is a Eugene High School graduate; now an industrial relations major at the University of Oregon. Wed ding date is yet not decided. Photo by Kennell-Ellis, Eugene r - : Y Over 100 at Farewell Party For Mrs. Keith Fields and Daughters Over one hundred women and girts of the Bible Baptist Church honored Mrs. Keith Fields and her live daughters, Elizabeth, Nancy, Jean, Joan and Patsy with a fare well party recently. Sharon Hawthorne, daughter oi Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hawthorne, in Ontario, Ore., where they wilt establish a new Conservative Bap tist Church. The Rev. and Mrs. Keith Fields have been in the Bible Baptist Church for nine and one-half years. Mrs. Fields has been the choir director, Sunday school teacher, (missionaries in Bolivia), is mak- counsellor of the difterent mission. ing her home with the Rev, and Mrs. Keith Fields and has been attending high school here. Guests1 included women trom the Immcm- uel Baptist Church, Newell Church and Covenant Church. Program was given by a group of the women and girls of the Bi ble Baptist Church. Tea was served following the program. Mrs. Bob Caster and Mrs. Bill Grimes poured. Cocoa, served to the girls, was poured by Jewell Ann Larson. Open face sandwiches, cookies, nuts and mints were served with tea, coffee and cocoa. The table was beautifully decor ated in pink and yellow, cen tered with a bouquet of pink and yellow carnations and pink rose buds, with pink candles cn either side. The piano was decorated with two candelabra, which had six pink candles in each. Hostesses were Mrs. Boyd Sprague and Mrs. Jerry Rhodes. This was a farewell for Mrs. Keith Fields, who 'is leaving with her husband, to make their home ary groups and led a Bible class on Tuesday mornings. She will be. greatly missed by the congregation and those from other churches who ' know her.
