Trucker Struck By Train He Missed WARWICK, Va. (iB-Willle I. Smith, 36, of Richmond, was driv ing his truck on State Route 168 near here during a rainstorm yesterday. Too late, he saw the red caution lights blinking at a railroad crossing. He slammed on the brakes. The truck started .skidding. It skidded all the way . across - the tracks, clear of the approaching train, and Smith was about, to breathe a sigh of relief when the vehicle suddenly did a U-turn and skidded right back on the tracks. The train smacked into the truck. Smith walked away unhurt but the truck was destroyed. . : tome Town Marshal Held In Stray Dog Bludgeoning DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, Tla. () Sheriff Aubrey McDonald, of Wal ton County said the town marshal here was arrested last night after four teen-age boys testified he paid them 25 cents to kill a homeless dog. The sheriff said the marshal, John Donaldson, and the four youths were arrested on charges of cruelty to an animal.
