Adlul Stevenson's campaign man ager hinted Wednesday that Seven ton will keep strong hand on the conduct of his presidential cam paign and perhaps shift the center ol Influence from the Democratic National Committee to his own Bprlnglleld headquarters. This indication came from Wilson Wyatt of Louisville, Ky.. who has taken over the direction of the Democratic nominee's headquart ers here. Wyatt disclosed a trrouo of lead Inn Democrats have been invited to meet here next week to map ramnaign strategy and the course of the campaign. . Then Wyatt strongly denied to a. news conference that he him lt is a "left wing" influence in Stevenson's campaign or that Stevenson is captive candidate . .V ' Ur i fv...v--; - MARTY LOUGEE will head the new YMCA swimming program when the 'Y', in co operation with the City Re creation Department, takes over tht Natatorium on Thursday nights. Wyatt one time head of the ADA pictured himself as a middle-of-the-road Democrat who shares completely Governor Gtev enson'a own views on civil rights, domestic and foreign policies. "If there la any place that I differ with Stevenson." he said. "I don't know where It is." Then he went on to say that In fact he was among the "conserva tive" members of the ADA al though he had not been active in the organisation for some time. Wyatt also said: 1. Although Stevenson will deliv er a major speech before the American Legion in New York Aug. 27. the speech will not be the kickoff of his presidential cam paign and the speech will be "non- political." 3.
