RLDS Mission In New Home The RLDS Mission has now taken possession ol the tormer Free Methodist Church, 426 8. 8th Street. Several church olllcers were here lor the recent dedication program. In addition, there were several vis itors Irom neighboring Oregon cities. The Free Methodist are now completing their new church on Oregon Avenue. Services are belnn conducted temporarily in the al ready completed basement. Building Fund Parley Slated A n Important congregational meeting is scheduled for the Con gregational Church Immediately following Sunday morning serv ices, according to the Rev. Donald Cassldy. The meeting will concern a proposal to secure & loan for the church building fund. Building fund pledges now total 44.613, according to Duane Shorgen. There is about 41.000 in the bank and an additional 43.010 is ex pected from the Congregational Building Society. This latter fund is Insurance recovery from fire damage to the old community hall. Pastor Cassldy said that Sunday morning s loan action would mage it possible for actual construction on the proposed new church to be started this summer. FROM YOUR CRATER LAKE DEALER OR ROUTE MAN Civic Sabbath Plan Adopted In response to a request from the Klamath County Chamber ol Commerce, the Klamath Minis terial Association has established the July 11-13 weekend as the First Annual Civic Sabbath. The request was made In con nection with the Chamber of Com merce's current campaign to re organize and expand chamber work in a "Build the Basin'' program. All Klamath ministers have been requested to present sermons this weekend applicable to the Basin's future. The chamber, In Its request to the ministers, said of its "Build the Basin" campaign: 'Its purpose Is deeper and broad er than merely the expansion ol commerce and business. The plan includes focusing the attention of businessmen and the public on the civic, spiritual, philanthropic and cultural need ol the com munity . . .' . Zion Readies Bible School Vacation Bible School Is to start at Zion Lutheran Church Monday and continue through July 25. Laki Community church at the Merrill highway and Midland Road, are planned lor Sunday, July 13. 3 p.m. PST. The hollow-tile building with sanctuary, Sunday School rooms, pastor's studv. ladles' parlor, kitchen, and warmed bv radiant heat will cost between 465.000 and 640.000. Van Landrum was the architect and construction Is by Schortgen. The construction marks the reali zation of plans for a modern sanctuary that dates back to No vember 1, 1608, when a small (rroup of worshipers gathered at the Snrlnz Lake schoolhouse to or ganize a Presbyterian church. The memory of a Henlev boy. will be commemorated In the Chanel of the church which is being built by the family of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Semon as a memorial to their son Charles who lost his life In World War II. The names of all bovs of the Mt. Laki and Henley communities who did not return from the war will be placed on a plague. The list will Include Charles Semon. Rollo Cheyne. Robert Bunnell.
