(Mike) Williams, Jrd year cooking division, won the championship in preparing and serving the best Dollar Dinner, and also took top honors In the bread baking contest in addition to being awarded a red ribbon for her bread '"Janice Kendall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kendall, 2nd year cooking, was adjudged champion on her angel food cake exhibit, and was also awaraca a oiue niwu In the cake baking contest. Later, on June 8, Janice received a letter of congratulation from Mar garet M. Brundage, county exten sion agent (4-H.l advising her that her record book had been rated tops In her division by the 4-H leaders' committee, and as a spe peclal award, Janice Is to receive a metal gate sign. . Marie Nicholson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stewart E. Nicholson, 2nd year cooking, was adjudged cake, baking champion and also given a blue ribbon on her cake exhibit. As a team, she and Janice Kendall were given the champion ship for their angel food cake bak ing oemonsiraiion. Little Janet Wilson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard H. Wilson, first year cooking, was named champion in the cookie baking con test and also received a red ribbon in the cookie exhibit. Gladvs Kendall, younger sister of Janice, first year cooking, was - awarded a blue ribbon on both ookie baaing ana exmoius. Anita Vaden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Vaden, first year cook ing division, merited a red ribbon in the cooKie Daxing conicsi ana mrfcltn vlhhin fnr hr rnnVim exhibit Linda Pope, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred It. rope, inira year eoos lcg, took a red ribbon on her bread exhibit. Chosen as the Champion judging train in the food judging contest was that composed of Enid Wil liams, Gladys Kendall ana janei Wilson. With the exception of the cookie baking contest winners, all adjudged cnampions wiu partici pate in cooking and baking contests at the forthcoming 4-H state fair. Other activities of the group dur- bur the oast Tear included collec tion of used clothing in the "Cloth ing ior Korea" drive. To defray expense of postage on the large amount of clothing collected here. the Kitchen Pals group held a very successful baked food sale featur ing their culinary products. Re cently, as a team. Mane and Jan ice gave a demonstration on the art of angel food cake baking be- lore members of the Civic In , provement Club at the regular meeting of that organization, and have also baked cakes to order for Tarious local people. From Fort Klamath community an orchid to Mrs. Loosley for the time and effort she has un selfishly devoted to the worthwhile project wnose results as outlined above speak more eloquently than mere words.
