Support Down 80 Percent WA81IINOTON I Government losses from farm price support operations are runnlnn only about a fifth of what they were a year sko, the Agriculture Department reported Thursday. Losses for the first ten months of the current fiscal year, which ends June 30, were $54,015,000. This compared with 276 million dol lars for the corresponding period last year. The reduction largely reflects th fact that fewer products are being supported. Most of this year's loss es were sustained on sale of dried egg, beans, wheat and peanuts. The government's Investment In farm commodities under support programs totaled $1,609,000,000 on April 30. This compares with a peak of $1,300,000,000 in the spring of 1950. Fish Screens Installed PORTLAND im State Game Commission crews have completed installation of 610 rotary screens ditches on Oregon farms. The commission said the biggest number of these 193 were located In the Rogue River Basin. Another 28 new screens are now being Installed In Wasco.
