Pat rick J. Hillings, IR.- Calif.), cast a sharp eye at the Major League rulers Thursday and said they'd better relax a bit if they want his vote to exempt them from the Anti trust Laws. Hillings, a member of the House committee which Investigated base ball last winter, labelled the "third Major League" for the Pacific Coast loop a "smoice screen." He said he believes it was de signed to relieve pressure on the two majors to extend big league franchises to other heavily popu lated areas, such as Los Angeles and San Francisco. The Coast League's "open classi fication," eliminating them from the option clause, was only a mild step toward making the coast a third major an event Hillings he can not see even in the distant future.
