a sharp eye at the Major League
rulers Thursday and said they'd
better relax a bit if they want his
vote to exempt them from the Anti
trust Laws.
Hillings, a member of the House
committee which Investigated base
ball last winter, labelled the "third
Major League" for the Pacific
Coast loop a "smoice screen."
He said he believes it was de
signed to relieve pressure on the
two majors to extend big league
franchises to other heavily popu
lated areas, such as Los Angeles
and San Francisco.
The Coast League's "open classi
fication," eliminating them from
the option clause, was only a mild
step toward making the coast a

Aberdeen Angus cattle which
its breeders will boast are the
best come Into focus in the Klam
ath country this weekend with the
advent of the Fifth Annual Klam
ath Falls Aberdeen Angus show and
Sale.
The first shipments consigned to
the sale were scheduled to start
arriving at the Fairgrounds today,
according to Chairman Alvln
Cheyne.
Aberdeen Angus Is breed of
pure black beef cattle, a breed de
veloped without horns. Breeders
boast their animals will carry more
meet than other beef breeds.

I The Order of DeMolay's 1953
State Conclave opens at Oregon
Technical Institute tomorrow, with
some 300 young Oregonians expect
ed to attend.
I DeMolay is a group sponsored by
the Masonic Lodfee, though it is not
a "junior" Masonic group. The or-jgamzation-ls
for young men 14-31
years of age, and has chapters es
tablished throughout North Amer
ica, as well as In Australia and
the Philippines.
It's teachings, according to De
Molay. is to supplement the teach
ings of the home and church.
Registration at the convention
opens at 8 a. m. tomorrow In the
OTI theater. The Klamath Falls
chapter is host to the some 60
chapters In Oregon, Including Tule
lake's chapter in California.
OPEN DOORS
Klamath homes 73 of them
have opened their doors to house
the conventioneers. Another 128
will be housed at OTT.
The program tomorrow includes
a tour of the campus starting at 1
ip. m., and welcoming addresses

starting at 3.

ath Falls armory.
Sunday, the DMolays will attend
the First Methodist church In a
body, and Rev. Lloyd Holloway has
made arrangements to include De
Molays in the service.

Pilot Home
NEW YORK ( Capt. John
C. Burn, the airline pilot who twice
escaped tragic air crashes, came
home Wednesday night Willi his
ailraclive wife, Singer Jane Fro
man. All Burn had to say was lhat lie
was "lust glad to be home."
He didn't want In talk about last
week's crash of hiri plane Into Ihe
ocean off Puerto Rico. Flfly-two
persons were killed In the accident.
Burn was one of 17 survivors.
During the war Burn wan the co
pilot of a plane that crashed Into
the sea at Lisbon, Portugal.
Miss Froman was a passenger
on that plane.
Burn rescued her from Ihe water.
The singer was crippled by the
crash but recovered and later
married Burn. .
Miss Froman had flown In Puerto
