The blase started In a basement apartment occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Don Palmer and their three young children, and was probably caused by an over-heated stovepipe Bedfast Mrs. Ogle, confined to bed with arthritis, called the fire department when she smelld smoke which had drifted up from the apartment be low. In the meantime the Palmers rushed their children out of the house and the bucket brigade saved the day. Acting Chief Jack Corkery said one wall of the basement apartment was badly damaged before the flames were quenched.
