A new feature ha been added to the Homecoming for Oregon alums this fall. Returning grads will be honored at a special pre gsme beef barbecue on Saturday, November 19. The barbecue will replace the alumni luncheons and fish frys of former years, and will be In MacArthur court on Saturday morning before the Oregon -Oregon State game. Heading the student committee planning the barbecue is Ronsld Brora, eon of the Rev. and Mrs. Cecil C. Brown, formerly of this city. Working with him will be Donald Paillette, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry B. Paillette, also of Klamath Palls. Miss Msy Darling of Portland Is spending the week in Klamath Palls, partly on official business, as she Is member of the state board of education. A no-host dinner In honor of Miss Darling was an event of Thursday night at the Pelican party room, and she -has also been entertained at the Victor O'Neill bom on Portland street. A bevy of good-looking women In smart gowns greeted guests at the tea given by Mrs. Seth Kerron and Mrs. Laurence Shew last Thurs day afternoon. The hostesses and twenty assistants were a colorful picture In their floor-length dresses. Klamath folks who mad the trek to Brookings last week-end for the Barbershop quartet affair, came home high In their praise of the good folk of the little Curry county town and laden with fish, bulbs and flowers. Perfect weather greeted the SO guests, many of whom drove over early Saturday morning following the game at Grants Pass Friday night Other vent a little earlier to try their luck fishing. On Saturday evening, the quartets and choruses sang at the wen decorated grange nan where a clever Brookings high school girl had pinned cartoon of the participant around the wall. Particularly good were those of Director John Houston and the House brothers. A cocktail party for the guest with 'everything on the house" was arranged by the Brookings people, many of them former Klam athltes. As a last gesture of friendliness, boxes of bulb were prepared for the guests and corsage given to the Barbershopper's wives. Visiting her thi week was Mrs. Prank Moser of Corvallis, the -iormer Vera Houston of Klamath Palls. Another mo person back In Klamath Palls Mrs. Prlu Hyde, whom we spotted lunching with the Ted Hydes of Bly on Thursday. Mrs. Hyd has been gone for almost a year and a half, most of that time spent In Vermont and New Hampshire. She didn't bring back her loom, but ah did bring lom lovely weaving which has occupied her tim. ,, Her for th hunting last week-end were Mr. and Mr. Ray Pickering of Marysvllle, Calif, guests of Dr. and Mrs. Albert O.
