They are called upon to decide such questions as whether theatre tickets can be bought on the Sabbath, or whether it is permissible to drive even mili tary cars on the day of rest. Pious Jews wont travel by ve hicle on Saturday or touch any money. It Is even forbidden to switch on an electric light.
